Hey guys,

I replaced my heatsink with the Kraken G12 and I am very happy with the overall result. My temps dropped about 22°C. Only the VRM and PWR temps are a little higher. 77°C max so far on PWR4.
But I saw people achieve better cooling with smaller radiators on here. But at least the system is now completely silent during heavy gaming or workloads.

What are your experiences? Is this a good result? I was testing with Heaven for 30mins until I reached steady 60°C max temps. Before it was 82°-84°C.

77c on the pwr isn't a problem at all. 125c is the max for any of the pwr sensors.

seems warm ... could be you not moving enough air through the case & /or radiator

What is your room Temp ?

Granted not silent but I got less than 60C in a 25 -26C room (75-76 F) with about 50% fans - side of case was open to let the heat from card escape ... folding 2 hrs straight @ 2088 MHz ... I had just recently replaced the TIM with MX-4 & replace stock pads with 6W/mK pads

I get around 45C max even when it's warm in my room on my 1080 Ti FE with a Kraken X61 with a G10 bracket, and another 1080 Ti FE with a Kraken X41/G10 (80 to 82F is the warmest my room gets to, the house is set to 78F for the AC). Funny enough, the smaller X41 cooled 1080 Ti is a little cooler because the X61 sucks in air past my 8 spinners.

I do have a very large PC case with the X61 and X41 set to pull air into the case, and my CPU cooler (X72) is also set to pull air into the case. Now that I think about it, all of my fans are set to pull air in.

Other than that, I do use non-stock fans - Noiseblocker NB-eLoop B14-3 for the X61 and X41. That may lop a few C off, since I can run them at 100% and not really hear them much.

Also, if you ever do a repaste on the GPU, don't use too little paste. If the paste is non-conductive (as it should be), you can't go wrong with putting extra on. Not covering the GPU die completely can lead to corners not getting paste, increasing the overall temperature of the GPU since that portion cannot conduct heat away (no IHS like.a CPU has).

Edit: I also have the tubes that go in/out of the radiators on the bottom. That's to be sure that I don't get any air pockets in the cold plate area or get any of that annoying cavitation from air bubbles going through the pump. Having the tubes up top could lead to these issues and an increase in the temperature of the GPU die since air isn't as good as water in conducting heat.

My setup is not ideal I guess since I have a lot of components in the BeQuiet Dark Base Pro 900 v2.
I had pretty high temps already in the beginning with my 2x 1080ti's (up to 87°C in stresstests).
In the front I have 2 BeQuiet Silent Wings 3 and one in the back. The radiator is sucking in air from the case and exhausts it into the top panel. So it might be sucking in warmer air from the heatsink and case. But the tubes are too short to turn it around or put the rad in front of the case. Maybe it's also becaue the cards are sandwiched together? The Dark Base Pro isn't the best case for GPU thermals in the first place. I also have to leave open the front door for air to suck in. If I put on all the panels the temps rise about 6 degrees to my current 60°C. Without (as seen in picture) max temp was 54°C. I never installed Cam Software so I don't know what the default pump speed is. The fans are pretty quiet however. My ambient temp is 22°C

EDIT: Forgot to mention I use the X63

You could set the pump speed in the CAM software to performance (or fixed 100%) - that should help temps a bit. Your call though, as it is an extra piece of software.

I would like to not use it if possible. I found an alternative software but it's only a command line thing which I am not comfortable with https://github.com/jonasmalacofilho/liquidctl
