So sent in my 1080TI today for a RMA, its been having some bad temp issues time to time & crashing in certain tasks I also noticed what looks to be small artifacting.
and not sure if its a common issue but the lights on the front seem very Dull on one side and the right had side is Bright.

Anyways I seen on the website that there is no longer 1080ti's up forsale and I read a few cases of people getting 2080 XC ultras as replacements is this because of stock shortage ? I mean either way id be happy with a 2080 but just curious.

Sent next day delivery so they should get it tomorrow.

It all depends on the availability of stock at the RMA Facility. If there is more 1080ti SC2's, you will receive the same model card back.

The light issue doesn't seem to be too extreme, but typically it just means the small diffusion plate that distributes the light from the LED's is probably offset just a little.  Usually that means that one LED is closer to the see through portion than the other LED, or possibly that one LED is not as bright overall.

Thank you for your reply buddy I appreciate it, hey I mean I am all open to a 2080 so ill not argue with them on that if they offer it .

Yeah I didn't think the light issue was a big thing I forgot to list that on the RMA so I hope they see that to

If we do not have it in stock, we will replace it with one of equal performance. More than likely, we should have another SC2 to send however. Keep us updated when you receive your replacement.

Typically, the unit could have arrived due to your tracking information but could be checked in later in the day then begins the 1-3 business day processing time.

I have seen RMAs go out the same day they are received but that is not always the case

Yeah I just called Support, when I first called they told me they where doing a stock take but the guy told me if I get my RMA sent next day special delivery it would be processed before the stock take.

I called them again there and spoke to a agent who told me I was mislead by that information gave to me & because of the stock take on going I was told my RMA might not be processed until sometime next week which is pretty upsetting after being told It would be done before the stock take hence why I paid for the quickest and fastest delivery available.

    thats a shame massively

so my guess I wont hear anything until Monday now being the weekend, kinda let down after being told my RMA would be processed the day after I called to talk about the RMA with phone support.
Hence why I paid for the most expensive fastest delivery possible, I cant blame anyone here DAN has been awesome in emailing them and trying to get an update but he has had zero replies also.

I did call yesterday and the agent really couldn't say anything to me because I called UK support got transferred to US support, they did tell me on the phone I would be replaced with the New 20 series card yet again throughout this process its been awkward trying to get any solid updates from EVGA.

so the card has been with them now going on 4 days, not marked as received, yet again I dont know if this is a normal thing or not ? everywhere ive read it seems people have been getting there RMA processed the same day or within a 3 day period.

I guess I am just playing the waiting game now and have my fingers crossed.
yet again the team here on the forums have been great

    Re: 1080TI SC2 ICX RMA 2019/06/18 09:18:30 (permalink)
Just a little update My RMA was received and they sent out a replacement today.

That aside I must admit i am pretty angry, when I first called I was mislead on the phone the agent told me my RMA would be processed the Next day turned out it would be 5 days due to the stock take which the agent failed to inform me about before telling me it would be done next day.

I called again 3 days into the 5 day wait and I spoke to a agent who was nice and helpful they said sorry for the previous agents mistakes and they told me on the phone as a sorry I would be upgraded to a RTX 2080 XC ultra, being told that I was excited. in-between then I have had Help from DAN and Jeff here on the forum both great guys!

so when I woke up to see my RMA was processed and I got a email for shipping info I was hyped! excited for my RTX card which I was told on the phone I was getting, I check on the Open RMA page to see the Part out number was the 1080TI SC2 ( The same model as I sent in ). I thought maybe it was a mistake and I was reading it wrong so I called the team and I spoke to a guy who was very abrupt about the matter I explained to him about what I was told and promised he told me had I proof of this I mean really ? did he expect me to record the call ? I did explain this to Jeff and Dan here via email about what I was told also.

Anyways the agent put me on hold to speak to the RMA team and he came back I just said to me no sorry you're not getting that card, anything more after that I tried to ask him he is very quick to interrupt me I must admit just an overall bad phone call, being pretty angry at this point I ended the call because clearly this agent was not on my side and was very rude.

So here we are now here me posting this as a update confused on what I can do here ?
I know the card being sent back to me is the same model which is the normal thing, but when you're directly promised something from the company and they dont uphold to that and then proceed to call me a liar about it that I cant accept.

    rough day.

I'd be annoyed to. Especially as while the 2080 might be  newer GPU with RTX and DLSS, it is slightly inferior to the 1080 Ti in raw performance and has 3GB less memory. IF, that is what they are sending you.

yeah just confirmed it sent a video of it to live chat support here and the RMA I got the 1080ti SC2 is buggered also and needs to be RMA'd.
dam this is so annoying I need a working card like yesterday badly. I cant afford to wait another week plus to send it back again.

So you are going to RMA the card only in hopes of getting an RTX Graphics Card back this time?

Well if the card that they sent out for the RMA was not broken it would be getting used right now, to be honest I can’t spare another week plus without a card.

Point being I took 1 quick look at the card and was able to tell in seconds there was a issue with the fans and that was confirmed by live support on here when I sent a video of it to them.

The part that made me giggle tho was the QC OK sticker on the card lol..

Jokes aside tho I really can’t be without a card another week plus I do a lot of work within blender and I’m already behind on work as it is. I haven’t a clue what the heck I’m going to do here to be honest.

Myself I would not want an RTX 2080 Card to replace any of my GTX 1080 Ti Cards.
Did at least try the Fan Fix by pressing the Center Down and releasing 7 to 8 times to re-center the Fan Blade?

I mean right now any working card would be a benefit to me, but yeah I did all the usual diagnostic stuff and still nothing the guy who I spoke to was great in trying to help me but even he said after he seen the video that it needed to be sent back in.

but I haven’t got a week to spare right now I’m having to ask friends to borrow there cards which is extremely inconvenient and a hassle.

I don’t know what to do here to be honest

I would at least get a B-Stock Card to have as backup Graphics Card so you can still work.

It's absolutely same what they send you GTX1080Ti or GTX2080.
One have more video memory and it's premium class, other is newer. Less power consumption is not so important because RTX2080 is hot same as GTX1080Ti, it's not as GTX1080 or GTX980.
RT support is like someone told me your PC case support USB 3.1 Gen 2 but I don't have flash memory or external HDD USB 3.1 Gen 2.
Because RT is there but GPU power to support him is not.

Yeah I got a 1080TI as replacement which was also faulty, I mean I only brought up about the 2080 because that’s what I was told on the phone by a agent. Right now tho all I know is Ive had to wait 2 weeks to receive a faulty card which is annoying
