Hello, hoping y'all can point me in the right direction -- I'm running out of ideas. While gaming I'm getting a "swarm of disco fireflies" multi-colored flashes all over the screen followed by screen freezing.
<a href="https://imgur.com/rDoI8NQ"><img src="https://i.imgur.com/rDoI8NQ.mp4" title="source: imgur.com" /></a> 17 second video -- flashing lights / freeze happens just at the end of the video.
This happens during any game -- AC Odyssey, The Witcher 3, Pillars of Eternity, Skyrim -- mostly during cutscenes / while talking to NPCs / trying to absorb a dragon's soul. Screen freezes but the game continues to run in the background (can hear it) however cannot access Task Master to close -- have to reboot the computer.
Temps are fine -- GPU idle 30, load 68 (pic below, had to reset the computer so they may be a couple of degrees off)
Tried numerous drivers -- using DDU to uninstall -- and only loading driver & 3D (no GE)... doesn't help.
Tried debug mode -- no impact, still flashing lights and then total freeze.
Tried running Unigine Heaven -- failed -- crash occurs before program can finish.
Tried running 3DMark Timespy -- failed -- crash occurs before program can finish.
Built computer JAN 2018, all parts purchased new. CPU not OC'ed ... GPU running at its native OC (?) -- haven't messed with any OC.
CPU: 8700k GPU: 1080 Ti SC Black 11G-P4-6393Mobo: ASUS ROG Strix x370-eRAM: 16GB Corsair Vengeance LPXCase: Fractal Design Meshify CPSU: Seasonic FOCUS Plus Series 750W 80+ GoldCooling: Corsair ML 2@ 140mm intake on NXZT x62 KrakenCorsair ML 3@ 120mm exhaust Reliability screenshot below -- all those are flashing, freeze and then reboot.
Have always used XOC... heard about X1 - tried that, no change -- reinstalled XOC.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks for reading.
