Between the absurd heat from having all these GPUs stacked so close to one another and the basically non-existent support for SLI these days, this system basically isn't good for anything other than A E S T H E T I C.  Maybe one of these days I'll be able to track down a few of those Hydro Copper blocks, but those are hard to come by and I don't see any compatible third party blocks either, not to mention that installing waterblocks would mean losing out on all that copper goodness.  Assuming that those don't pop up for sale any time soon, I'm debating whether to keep this thing intact as a monument to my foolishness or possibly sell off a couple of the GPUs so that others can get on this retro Kingpin bandwagon.

Sell them? No way. A 4-way sli rig like that is legendary. https://www.3dmark.com/hall-of-fame-2/fire+strike+3dmark+score+ultra+preset/version+1.1 Vince's 4-way 1080 ti kingpin rig still holds the fire strike ultra record.

If this was a retail product...  Would be pretty cool and should solve the cooling issue.  Just can't exactly have a normal case anymore.

Welp, one of my cards just died, if anyone has one they're willing to part with, let me know.

Sorry to hear that. I only have one, so I wonโ€™t be letting it go.

So just a little update on my 1080 ti kingpin that I received on September the 4thโ€ฆ

When I first got the card it would crash at stock settings through a fire strike ultra graphics test 1 benchmark loop of 15 minutues. Usually it would crash around the 3-5 minute mark. To resolve the issue I had to underclock the card -20 on the core. Well today I decided to open it up and redo the thermal paste on it. Glad I did as now Iโ€™m able to pass the benchmark at completely stock settings. One portion of the die had some paste on it that had dried out, and was literally stuck to the die. I had to really scrub on it with alcohol to get it off. Now it works perfectly. ๐Ÿ‘

Iโ€™m currently testing it again as Iโ€™m posting this. Iโ€™ve already passed fire strike ultra graphics tests 1 & 2 each for 15 minutes. Currently running time spy extreme graphics tests 1 & 2 each for 15 minutes.

Passed time spy extreme graphics tests 1 & 2 with no issues.

Here are the temps & info from GPU-Z after running time spy extreme graphics test 2 for 15 minutes. Along with me loading up my personal xoc vbios which has my name edited into the vbios to the card I got from Vince.
