So I guess the only 1080 ti in the step up program will be the FE. Right?

For now, until they are allowed, per nvidia, to release AIB cards. No idea when that will be.

EVGA will offer the reference models for step-up, SC most times at best. But at least they offer it.
My old card should hit Monday....patiently waiting.. trying anyway.

Bad news for folks in Europe.

Yesterday afternoon EVGA 1080 Ti was still in stock at EVGA store. I was determined to commit myself to 1080Ti SLI even without being approved for 1080 step-up since I applied for one like 10 or 20 minutes after it went live. In the morning to my dismay I discovered that there is NO Add to cart button. Even Auto-notify is gone. :( All major outlets have status Pre-Order or On-order. There is one place I can get it, but it carries a solid 50 Euro premium of 870 Euro at Caseking. I want it bad, but not that bad (50 Euro that's exactly how much I have to pay for courier S&H to EVGA). I found also one at Amazon for ...wait for it... 1001 Euro. :gulp:

Funny but I can get MSI, Gigabyte, Asus, Zotac, Inno3D 80Tis all of them by mid-next week. Just not EVGA which is like pink unicorn.

I would love to see some clarity in step-up queue. Is number ID xyz next or is there 50000 others in front of it. If I had to wait 3 months (like some folks recalled from previous step-ups) Doh!. The only thing which draws me like black hole to 1080TiFE is one slot cooling, I can't walk past that.

Yea, I do overclock a bit. Fire Strike doesn't play too nice with my PC for some reason. I've got a 26,200 score, but I seem to be able to push my GPUs a lot further running other benchmarks.

Also, Fire Strike is bottlenecked by the CPU, which sucks :(

Submitted mine a bit later than wave 1, 11:26 am PST, so I figured I'd be at least in "wave 2" maybe next week or the week after. Just stopped home at lunch and saw the Step 2 confirmation email at 7:41 PST. Starting to get a little bit giddy here...

Just woke up after working the night shift and got mine in.... I paid $559 for my 1080 SC about 3 weeks ago.

Step up was $140... shipping $11.

$151.

I'll take it even if it means I'm waiting a month or two.  No problems with the 1080 till then.  Still an amazing card.

Only a week?

Just got my step 2 email from EVGA saying they are going to review my invoice.

Once your request has been approved, you will have 7 days to pay for your Step-Up. If you do not pay for your Step-Up within this time frame, your request will expire and you will only be able to resubmit a Step-Up request if you are still within 90 days of the original purchase date.

Damn I've been trying to hit 26k lol. Yea I have found the 3d mark benchmarks have some bugs that will mess with the scores also. I am in the same boat I have 2 1080 TI but my cpu is the weak link. I've pushed it to 4.7 but my physics scores are still pretty sad.

I've got a simple 1 button OC to 4.8 and haven't attempted to go beyond that yet nor have I done any serious benchmarking.  I'm waiting until I get my 1080 Ti installed...

I will say this machine hasn't had a problem doing anything from 4k gaming to VR to video encoding... but I'm stiill waiting to benchmark.  :)

I got my step 2 confirmation and then step 3, submit payment. I would like to take this opportunity to give EVGA some extra kudos. Yes, they are a for-profit company, but not at the expense of losing customers over a few dollars. My Newegg invoice shows a lower price paid due to how they factor game codes and pricing, so I submitted my cost assuming the worst. But, EVGA corrected my payment based on the full MSRP for the card, saving me about $60. Kudos to them for not being so hungry to take the Newegg invoicing literally. Just another reason why I buy EVGA!!

Pretty sure they going through it right now for everyone that got accepted one by one.
Invoice review bucket they gotta complete now.

Hopefully it won't take another week... :)

Haha hopefully not, I mean 1st wave seemed like they got their confirmation emails and payment sent within the same day. Might see the next email sometime in the afternoon.

Faster the better though :) I would like to ship it out today.

I'd like to as well but will probably be tomorrow.  All good though... I'm in WA and EVGA is in CA?  Better than shipping cross country.

Yeah I went EVGA based on the dozen or so recommendations I got over at PCPP about their warranty and customer service...

... the step up program was the clincher.

(If anyone at EVGA reads this, word of mouth advertising is the best advertising)

Well I mean you can always WAIT to start your step up lmao

Actually, I can't. I only have 5 days left to opt in :(

I really like the aesthetics of my build and am sad to change it up so soon...hahaha

You can see why here:

Wow epic setup. Do you overclock your cpu and gpus? What are your Fire Strike scores?

Yea, I do overclock a bit. Fire Strike doesn't play too nice with my PC for some reason. I've got a 26,200 score, but I seem to be able to push my GPUs a lot further running other benchmarks.

Also, Fire Strike is bottlenecked by the CPU, which sucks :(

Damn I've been trying to hit 26k lol. Yea I have found the 3d mark benchmarks have some bugs that will mess with the scores also. I am in the same boat I have 2 1080 TI but my cpu is the weak link. I've pushed it to 4.7 but my physics scores are still pretty sad.

Wow impressive score. Yea your physics score murders mine but I got a bit higher on the gfx score.

So I got a question.

My build is the first custom PC I've built since 2001... I actually remember benchmarking on 3dMark2001 with my AMD/GeForce3 system.  :)

I see that score with the 4790 and dual Ti cards... so I gotta ask, would my 7700k and a single Ti card be able to compete with/beat that score?  I haven't bought the newest 3DMark yet I'm waiting till I get the Ti installed and am just curious what you experts think.

How big is the CPU bottleneck?

True that, cant wait to get both my 1080 FTW Hybrids Stepped up.

But that score is a on a laptop, and the cooling becomes a challenge at higher clocks.

This is using the same system by someone else - 3dmark.com/fs/11561882
He had his system on top of an AC :P

On the Step up note, jut finished the payment. $23 - UPS Next Day Saver :D
If everything goes smoothly i might be able to get my hands on the 1080Ti later this week on next Monday.

Absolutely not. You may be able to get close to 20,000, but pushing into the mid- to high-20,000s will require some sort of SLI.

I'll post my scores when I get home tonight. I think my best run was 26,190, but I wasn't pushing anything when I did that. I had 4.8 Ghz 6700K and a small overclock on the 1080 FTW HCs. I'll see if I can up the OCs on both and push 27,000 tonight.

I plan to upgrade to the 7700K when I replace the HCs with the Ti's. So between those two upgrades I think I should be able to push 30,000. We shall see.
