Hate to revive an old thread, while I understand the existence of these cards and can see how they would be appealing to some people. I made the mistake of snagging a bundle and didn’t realize it was a DT version of a card since in the bundle it didn’t show the box of the card with the DT logo unless you specifically type in the model #. Now I have to pay out of pocket to ship back to evga on top of not having a working card from them for over 2 months now.
Originally had a 1080, crashed under factory settings benchmark, then 2 1080ti sc2’s same issue unstable at factory oc (tried a siblings spare card worked perfectly fine no issues)
Now I have to return the bundle, pay out of pocket 1 week shipping, wait for the refund. Pray another version is in stock, pay the difference since no sale atm (which I would’ve gladly done if I knew this was a DT version to begin with, I would’ve had no problem coughing up another 40 to get a decent card) on top of not being able to game for the past 2 months due to unstable factory oc’d cards all from evga
Now I’m gonna end up paying 30 for shipping, on top of the 40-60 difference assuming a card is in stock.
Which could’ve all been avoiding if there were more prominent indications of the “DT” version just like in the 1080ti section it shows the boxes and on the box big bold “DT” on it but in the bundle picture it just showed the card along with the model # which u would have to specifically google to find out if it’s a DT.
I’ve had a rollercoaster series of events with evga the past 2 months and there’s no end in sight
I just want a normal card that isn’t crashing under factory oc, lately that seems like too much to ask for from evga
