How we "do something with the penguin" has me baffled.  Do we send him to flight school???  Thoughts?

I actually think its Shawshank redemption...
First: help the penguin (early 1900's reference to prisoners clothes) fly (escape)
 
second: I work alone ... 201.  Andy tunneled alone. And on the picture on 3 of 6 it really looks like a 102 on the picture's shirt
 
Third: spelling it out for you has the same amount of letters as Shawshank Redemption.  (this could be coincidence as the full title is technically THE shawshank redemption)
 
now I'll admit i havnt found a quote yet, and the star wars quote is strong but there are at least 2 quotes where Red refers to Andy as a bird.  Still plugging at finding a word for word.
EDIT: I have tried many variations of dig, tunnel, rock hammer, hope.  I'm trying them all but I think the extension may still be .png (penguin)

for some reason i was thinking that the PM post was #200... Ok probably going to abandon shawshank redemption for star wars.  Has anyone done a www.imsdb.com search for the word penguin?

Personally, I'm in the Star Wars ESB camp. 

We have the "NNNNOOOOOOOO!!!!" and "Hear you nothing I say?" quotes.  The first one was way back in message #201 in this thread.

Same here, too many references to it, but there's only that one quote with "fly". Something about "launching a penguin" really sounds right. Cuz then it flies!  Anyone try urls with launch penguin?

Rybes, did you edit the"use the force Luke" part in? Thay would fit with the Starwars theme.... but at the same time Shane said it would be obvious once we found the answer.

Since you can't interact with the penguin image what else can be done. (at leas I couldn't find anything clickable on it) If we know the movie (empire (emperor penguin) strikes back)....wait a sec,  Groups seven and ten will stay behind, is part of the quote. Maybe something similar to the 3 of 6 or whatever?

ok so I've been reading this and staring at it and i think it may have driven me slighly crazy..   here's my take on it all, and if I've steered is in the complete opposite direction I apologize, maybe i have tried to make things fit in the time I've spent trying to puzzle this together!
 
I'm basing this on the earlier folding under an individuals name in this thread, and the fact that this was started in the folding forum.

I honestly do not know why I put myself through this. Your pitiful attempts to make even the simplest word game successful have removed three years from my life. I suppose you help sparing me enjoying the golden years with my favorite dog. I sometimes think to myself: of all the things you could be doing with your time, why do you waste your valuable energy on a group of barely multi-cell organisms? What was once enjoyable, is now painful... like watching a penguin trying to fly .

here's my take..  for me the important parts are three years, waste of energy and penguins flying.

the last part in my opinion alludes to us trying to solve this puzzle, they want us to fly, i.e solve the puzzle, but its painful watching us trying to make sense of things, hence also the sad penguin image.

shortening a lifespan by three years help spare the golden years..  perhaps by folding we can help cure Alzheimer which could be seen as a disease that robs people of their golden years?

we waste valuable energy (electricity) on folding (some might see it this way?) when instead some of us could use our rigs for gaming or other distractions but instead we waste our valuable energy on a group of barely multi-cell organisms.  This could refer to humans and animals etc.

Multicellular organisms, especially long-living animals, also face the challenge of cancer.  Which is partially what folding is about finding cures.

Also the "NOoooo" is/was a very popular meme, didn't someone get a PM containing a meme?  maybe we have to make the penguin mimic something to make it fly.   So we don't necessarily have to make it fly, just make it appear as if it is flying.. so then use the force to elevate the penguin? (much like the ship from the swamp?)
