What are you on about? It's covering both the VRAM and VRMs.

The block fully covers the areas that should be cooled, core, vrms and memory. it just does not cover the entire PCB, which has 0 impact on thermals.

Hey derick, any chance at an underside view of the block? and maybe a inside view?

Re: EK WaterBlocks Discussion, Help & Question Thread 2013/10/02 18:49:19 (permalink)
verbatim from their website

The upcoming EK-FC780 GTX Classy is a Full Cover water block designed specifically for EVGA's GeForce® GTX 780 Classified graphics card. This water block will directly cool the GPU, RAM as well as VRM (voltage regulation module) as water will flow directly over these critical areas thus allowing the graphics card and it's VRM to remain stable under high overclocks.

cite: http://www.ekwb.com/news/385/19/Two-new-custom-PCB-GeForce-GTX-780-water-blocks-in-the-works/

If I can get my hands on a 780 classy I might go with this, but they said a full cover waterblock, not a block covering just the essentials.

I believe the 780 lightning recieved a true full cover waterblock why didn't the classy?

^^^ I think EK fail to recognized that "memory & core VRMs are separated on this card",leaving this part of the card just naked doesn't make any sense to me -stock cooling provides at list plate .
I don't think this cards have sensor for VRMs but some of us have IR thermometers,........
P.S. @ Jacob what are the safe temps for this mosfets ? (yellow circle )

I'm pretty sure the VRMs are just to the left of the yellow circle.

What's the distance between the center of the inlet/outlet?
Will be using Monsoon compression fittings which are quite big - 22m wide if i'm not misstaken. The we're to big to fit 2 of them on the EK-VGA block. If it's a no-go on the classy block I'll have to pick up some barbed fittings.

Does this mean that you guys won't be making an xxl version?

I know that he xxl's don't provide any increased cooling performance as it's essentially just a bigger POM top. But for aesthetics reasons I would prefer the xxl version.

Also for those discussing the yellow circle above. This area might get hot, but it's worth noting that the HC block doesn't cover these either. I've got 3.

Somewhat off topic:

Any idea if EK plans to make a chipset block for the EVGA X79 Dark motherboard?

Edit: Realized the question has been asked in this thread already. Consider this a bump for the question ;)

Hey guys, sorry I haven't been around much in the past week. I will respond to all your questions in a moment, but in the meantime the 780 classy is up in our webshop! It'll hit US (and worldwide) distributors soon!

http://www.ekwb.com/shop/ek-fc780-gtx-classy-acetal-nickel.html

As far as we know it'll work with the EVGA backplates (not tested in office). Our own backplates will be available next week.

Where can I purchase additional o rings for the EK FC Terminal Triple / Quad Parallel block?

I think they are the 15x1mm gaskets.

Re: EK WaterBlocks Discussion, Help & Question Thread 2013/10/14 00:11:44 (permalink)
Just to clarify, the description says "This water block directly cools the GPU, RAM as well as VRM (voltage regulation module) as water flows directly over these critical areas".

When i look at this picture it looks like the water doesn't flow directly over the VRM, it looks like the water only flows over the core and memory. It looks completely different from your titan block which is also a fullcover block.

So, does the water flow direcly over the VRM?

Edit:
Doesn't look that much different from EVGA's own block which does not (even according to EVGA) actively cool the VRM.
