Using these drivers for two hours now in BC2 and it is great. I like the new UI when installing; very slick look!

nice find :)

The nvcp rounds up, to the whole 60, but real refresh is 59.94 while that app displays 59.

edit
i should correct myself though, 60.01 displays as actual 60hz when custom set. though BF2 is the only game that actually fails to work if the refresh is below 60 afaik.

I understand, but it shows 60hz in nvidia control panel, which before it drove me crazy! You know, having both 59 and 60, and whenever I picked 60, and Apply, it would go back to 59, like.. wth!

I feel better now that it shows 60. Oh See Dee.

lol, i don't know why, it has a kb article mentioning its behavior.

Any idea if "threaded optimization" in nv control panel provides any enhancements in bc2 or any other games at all?

Only issue I've run into is openAL32.dll went AWOL. Simply re-installed it, all is good. I'm seeing an average increase of about 10 FPS in BFBC2. Average is around 80-85 fps. Never gets below 60, sometimes spikes up to 120 fps. Also GPU usage is up at least 15%. Averaging in the 60 percentile.

System:

Windows 7 Home Premium 64/bit
Asus P5Q Deluxe
Q9550 OC to 3.5/Ghz

EVGA GTX 470 OC Edition. Card is OC to 700/1400/1840 at 1.0v for GPU
24" LED monitor at 1920 x 1080 in and out of game

Most game settings are medium to high. Vsync Bloom and HSAO are off. Nvidia control panel setting are AA = 8x, AF = 8x

Hope this is the correct place to put this, but user TechFrog on Nvidia GeForce & ION driver section of the forums. Posted there is apparently differences performance wise between the US version and UK version.

If you notice the following links:

260.63 - Windows Vista 64-bit, Windows 7 64-bit - US
127 MB download

260.63 - Windows Vista 64-bit, Windows 7 64-bit - UK
157 MB download

Same for the 32bit version
260.63 - Windows Vista 32-bit, Windows 7 32-bit - US
95.9 MB download

260.63 - Windows Vista 32-bit, Windows 7 32-bit - UK
124 MB download

Not sure if anyone wants to test the differences, but just passing on people claimed performance gains from the UK version over the US. Could just be false claims but seems odd they are sized differently but could just be a region based thing.

my fps went down in starcraft 2
in the menu's i get 30fps
with 258.96 i was getting 60fps
in game i hover in the 30's and can't break into the 50's+ doing nothing
is this have something to do with people having there cards overheat in sc2?
i have vysnc on and before i could get to 60fps
now it struggles at 30fps
without vysnc it really struggles to get 60fps
my 250gts performs better in sc2 with the older drivers than my 460gtx with the new drivers (just sc2)

This driver corrupted itself after completion of a folding at home work unit. I had to remove this driver and reinstall the last known WHQL driver. I have filled out a report and sent it to NVIDIA.

Hmm, that's weird. I just dl'ed the UK version, but don't know when I'll get around to trying them out. The U.S. version's been running fine all day here, so I'm not in a HUGE hurry to change again. ;)

dumb question. The drivers work fine on my system so far. However, I have a GTX 480SC. Should, roll back the driver. Underclock the card and reinstall for best performance? dumb question

Omg, I don't know if anyone has noticed yet, or if it has been mentioned in this thread already, but..,

these drivers actually set my monitor to 60hz, and not the 59hz I always was forced to in Win 7 ><..

Finally, 60hz!!!

*tears*

hia hanni yes i did mention it earlier. but got the same your just being tricked into thinking it got fixed answere
these drivers are keepers for me like em
just another small improvment physx auto select used to always go to the card with my monitor attached wich i always thought was wrong.

Just wondering, Is there any advantage to "not" installing the Nvidia 3-D and sound drivers if you're not using either one? I just did the "clean install" option, and it put them all in,

I was impressed by how my 480 handles low (30s) framerates so smoothly, now it seems even better with these drivers. :D Actual framerate counts are the same, but much smoother... somehow... I left the audio drivers out, maybe something to do with it.  /shrug  But I have noticed that my card stays at 405 all the time with certain programs that it used to stay at 51, bugs the crap outta me.  lol

Any one else missing the supposed "Dynamic Tiling" option? It's not under global or program profiles. They take it out or?

SLI on BFBC2 is about the same GPU load wise (40% in game , spikes to 55-62%max on win/lose screens only ),not impressed overall .Just another driver with a nicer wrapper IMO
