If you need to drop back to a previous version do a system restore.  That's what I have always done and had to do with this beta. Works great and is quick. No issues after the system restore, again.

Sorry, but thats absurd and potentially system ruining advice. System restore was not meant for trivial things like driver downgrades.

Grasshopper,

Sorry but it works. I have been at this for years and no issues.   Driver restores are not trivial.....

Driver restores are trivial, they only become complicated when you start using system ruining applications like driversweeper or any other app that blindly touches the registry.

hmm i didnt install the 3D drivers either...

The new service helps ensure profiles are applied properly as previous drivers under certain circumstances stopped applying profile/overrides.

Using these drivers fresh out of 258.96 camp, I got a 300-point boost in 3DMark Vantage. Another marginal increase. Meh. =|

OpenGL Extension viewer crashes in module nvogl64.dll
Virtualbox with Accelerated 3D enabled crashes in module nvogl64.dll

OpenGL games and applications otherwise run perfectly fine. -_-

Working pretty good so far, and a decent boost in Call of Pripyat compared to the original 258 driver.

Oh ok cool  and thank you !!! I opened device manager and saw all them and was wondering if they were suppose to be there knowing how Audio drivers can mess things up sometimes..

I guess they work along with the Realtek drivers ?

Quit the opposite actually, the nVidia HD Audio drivers can cause black screens/freezes due to IRQ conflicts. Check out this thread to fix/prevent any problems that may occur in the future.

i'm getting a weird anomaly in starcraft 2 after finishing a game and returning to the main menu
this occured AFTER updating to sc2 to 1.1 and using 260.63, however this did not occur with 1.03... but the weird thing is it didn't occur right away, even after updating to 1.1
anyways after returning to the main menu i can see the outer ring of the planet(s) in the background through the menus (a black outer ring bleeds through)

Can anyone else confirm the corruption of the drivers after completing a Folding WU? or was the corruption posted earlier in the thread a one time thing?

NVIDIA 260.63 Beta Driver Problem.
I was playing Crysis and all sudden my fan speed went down to 3 then 20 then 0, (using MSI-Afterburner). then when i check my temp it went up to 100+celcius so i shut down my pc anyway my normal max load  is between 65-71celcius.
so i decided to shut down my pc try to play World Of Warcraft. after 10mins same thing happened.

so i decided to go back to 258.96 release driver. its been 2hours since install never had a problem. wish nvidia will fix that issue once they release it.

Re:NVIDIA 260.63 Drivers Released! 2010/09/27 10:58:25 (permalink)
Piece of advice, if you are ingame and the fan dies, do not rush to shut down the computer while the card is at 100C, since you are leaving the card to passively cool 100C. Instead, try to force manual fan, auto fan, or user fan profiles in afterburner, if none work, try to reload the graphics driver, and if all else fails, reboot, not shutdown. (This should be done as fast as possible)

This is so that you can cool the card with its fan rather than letting it sit in its own heat, this can sometimes lead to unsafe ambient temps on the card, and cause lots of little issues (not directly related to core damage).
