My new build failed today. I was having problems with my cpu cooler Corsair h80i gt. first the corsair link stopped reading fan speed then the pump stopped. on reboot I got cpu overheat in bios then it shut down. Now all I get is an orange stanby light on board. I have tried resetting bios and even reseating cpu. Don't know what to do now. Should I rma the motherboard and cooler and hope my cpu is not fried. Should Corsair have to replace it all? At my wits end and heartbroken. I am not rich and cant only afford a build like this about every 5 or 6 years.

I would start with a CPU rma and a cooler RMA. Your CPU and your cooler had the heating issues, so I wouldn't start by sending off the motherboard.
How old is the cooler, and no, I wouldn't suspect Corsair would replace everything unless the pump leaked.

Double check your cooler wires, make sure to follow the manual. Did you use the CPU fan header on the MB for the input to the cooler? CPU can take some heat, as long as the heatsink was attached. Have you tried to restart the PC after a couple of hours of letting it cool?

Got it sorted out. Decided to exchange cooler and board at Amazon. Tried to boot without a cpu and nothing not even a beep or error code so I am hoping cpu is OK. If not will return it also. Pisses me off I couldn't even get a reply on corsair forum when I started having problems with cooler.

Glad you got it sorted. Seems this forum is more active than most other forums on the net anyway. ;)

Wish I would have went with x99 classified. First Asus board since pentium days, now I remember why.

It has been a good board for me going on a month now... Glad to hear you got your issue resolved though...
