TITAN is ultra expensive and not worth 1000$, not 1200$, and for 1000$ leave bad taste of 80% working chip.
GTX900 series price drop, GTX980Ti Hybrid now cost 550 euro, I saw. Maybe and for 500$ could be find.
Soon people will need to wait new series to show up only to buy older for normal price.

I don't understand ... "leave bad taste of 80% working chip".

The pascal titan x doesn't have all the cuda cores enabled that a GP102 chip can offer.

What's your point?  Are you just trolling or are you going to make a point here?  That doesn't mean a 80% working chip.  People might want to re-take math 101 again if they don't understand actual percentages..28 of 30 does not equal 80%...

% doesn't matter. The point vlada was trying to make was it isn't a fully enabled GP102.

We already know that - it's in every single hardware review for the Titan XP.  Again, what's your point here?

Dang, from the reviews I read, I should have waited and got the Titan X pascal, lol. I just ordered a EVGA GTX 1080 FTW from newegg today. Upgrading from a 980ti hydrocopper. :( wonder how much the restock fee is? Too late to cancel. How are you liking that Titan X?

The Titan XP is a great card, no doubt about that.  But, so is the GTX1080.  I would first ask you what resolutions do you game at and how often do you upgrade?  Also, do you mind running SLI configurations?  If not, then maybe getting a second GTX1080 is a better option for you.  Or you could wait to see if Nvidia releases the much anticipated GTX1080Ti, which gives you a second option vs. paying full price for the Titan.

1080 ti isn't coming. Nvidia doesn't have any chips to make a 1080 ti as the pascal titan x was suppose to be the 1080 ti.

I don't think it's really all that important that not all of the cores in the Titan XP chip are enabled. You're paying for what you're getting, not what you're not getting, and they tell you exactly what you're getting in the published specs. If what you're getting is worth $1200 to you, then it's worth it. If not, then it isn't. Complaining that one might have gotten more is kind of besides the point, since they're not offering the fully-utilized chip yet, at any price.

nVidia did me a favor! I tried to buy one bit they added tax that pushed the transaction above my preset debt card limit. nVidia owns no property in my state and should not be charging sales tax. So I'm hoping that AMD comes with something air-cooled that will beat the 1080FE and I'll seriously consider going RED.

Actually, it's your state's internet tax law that's making Nvidia charge taxes.  My state calls it "internet consumer use tax" and several vendors now charge the flat state tax rate on all purchases.  Amazon also starting charging this tax this year.  Newegg has not done it yet, but does report all purchases you make to your state revenue service.  So, if you do have a use tax similar to my state, then you better make sure that you know about it.

Nvidia products are sold by digital river. There's a chance they digital river has a foothold in your state.

Just because you didn't want to take the time to determine why you have to pay taxes is your own fault. Don't be mad at me for trying to help.

Big mistake you have made. Making a decision based upon synthetic benchmarks...really? And yes, I know all too well all of the issues and limitations of SLI. It's one of the reasons why I chose a single Titan X. I could easily buy two GTX1080s, but knew the performance from a single Titan was more consistent and reliable.

I own an Acer X34, XB321HK, and a XB271HU, and get outstanding frame rates on all of them with a single Titan. So yes, you are wrong.

Enjoy your GTX1080 SLI, and I'll enjoy my Titan X.

I have two Pascal Titan X with 980Ti hybrid coolers installed. and I play games not just benchmarking.
So I know very well how one Titan XP and two Titan XPs can do because I own two of them unlike you.
You enjoy your only one Titan XP while I enjoy two of my Titan XPs.
Go TechPowerUp review for one Titan XP. One Titan XP can't even reach 50fps at 4K for Crysis 3, COD BO3, Hitman...
Out of 15 games benchmarked there, 6 games can't reach 60fps at 4K...
One Titan can't conquer 4K@60fps not to mention QHD@144fps, which is more difficult to conquer.

This argument is pointless.  Enjoy your system :P

Why are you all fighting? This thread is getting incredibly childish as a measuring constant of whose wallet is bigger. Take it to PM if you just want to fight.

Agreed.  Not sure how this how got so crazy.  I will cease and desist at this time.  No more banter.  Everyone can enjoy whatever setup they have -- why should I argue about that?  We are the elite - PC gamers through and through :D

Again, what's your point here?

Trying to help rsbrownjr understand what vlada was saying.

Thank you, Sajin.  As always, you're a gentleman and a scholar.

You proved my point. There are some games that One Titan XP with Oced can't reach 60fps at 4k, which is not good enough for my standard. Our standards are just different, so I also respect your opinion. Let's just enjoy what we have. Life is too short.

I wish I were Bill Gates. Then I could buy NVidia and force them to give me the fully-unlocked Pascal chip in a full set of four custom cards, gold-plated and studded with diamonds. Then I would come here onto this forum and tell you guys all about it. And, worst of all, once I had it, I wouldn't even play any games with it. After all, I'm Bill Gates, I don't have time for game playing! Instead I'd use that machine for sending emails and browsing the web. Oh, and being #1 in the HoF for every benchmark, just to deny the likes of K|ngP|in and the others.

In fact, I'd contract with NASA to make me some custom equipment out of pure refined unobtainium to be used for liquid helium cooling of my machine. Liquid helium is, you know, only like 4 Kelvin, which is much colder than nitrogen, and with it I'd force my machines to run at like 7 Ghz, just to make sure the framerate of my email and web browser programs was high enough to meet my exacting standards. I'd have servants stationed at my machine 24/7 pouring in the liquid helium from dewars fashioned from solid diamond plated with platinum, just in case I felt the need at 3 AM to check my email.

Ah, we can all dream, right?
