So, about a month ago I got to turn my computer on for the first time. This is a cool event, but the buildup to it was 3... maybe even 4 years of planning, building, learning, and failing.
Here are the stats, before I forget:
EVGA SR-X
Xeon e5-2630v2
32GB corsair RAM
EVGA GTX690
Kingston hyperX 256GB SSD
WD 1&2 TB HDDs
Toshiba 3TB backup
Enermax platinumax 1350W PSU
Rosewill Blackhawk ultra case

So, I began this project long enough ago that the thread doesn't exist anymore, the idea was to stuff an SR-2 into a HAF932 coolermaster case. This was possible but the logistics were so hard to pull off that I ended up ruining 2 HAF932 cases before deciding that I needed a redesign. I had also switched to the SR-X, and decided on my processor.
Then I lost my job, things fell apart, and I seriously considered selling off all the parts and working off my laptop.
But I didn't.
I made it through, and a friend of mine bought my processor for christmas last year. Then the wiring on my PSU was bad and blew out my SR-X.
EVGA stepped in and replaced it, and I bought a new PSU.
Then I ran into a persistent error that wouldn't let the system boot, that I finally figured out was due to a new BIOS being required, the 08 bios I think, which allows the "v2" processors. So again I was stuck in a rut, with no way to continue, as I couldn't buy or borrow a first generation CPU from the 2011 socket xeon line.
So I waited, and in April I was able to finally buy a two core CPU, plug it in, update the system, only to discover that my watercooling pumps had gone bad in the intervening years.
So I waited another month or two, and got a brand new bay res/pump combo.
Then it turned on.

So, after all this time I've got it running, though in a different capacity than I had once planned, a lot of it has been thanks to the help on these forums.
The next step you ask?
Well, I've got all this beautiful copper from natemandoo that I need to put into my beast:

Plus a second CPU and accompanying set of RAM would be nice. Maybe eventually a second 690? We will see.
Thank you everyone.

Nice!  I am starting to wish I jumped on the SR-X when it was still around.  I bought the SR-2 when it came out and still by far one of my favorite builds that I have done.  Keep it up!

Man, I haven't seen those blocks in a while?!  Those are one of a kind.  The only SRX blocks I have ever, and likely will ever make.

Oh wow nice Duallie and congrats for completing this project of yours Quite similar what I did with my Dual 8 Core Opteron 6140, which took me 4 years, but as you can see somethings are really worth doing even if it would take you 3 to 4 years, the feeling of accomplishing is also very greatly accepted, anyways that is what I got from my four year long Project G34

What you should do is make a MODS RIGS page of this Duallie, then make a post in this topic my friend Chrome M Dragon made:
    http://forums.evga.com/FindPost/2192113

Then I can add you in the MR +1 list I made for him and that thread here:

Thanks for the tip! I don't have my second 690 or my second Xeon yet, but I'm hoping in another year or two, who knows!

Yeah they seem to be quite rare as a VGA card collector I too seek two EVGA GTX 690's, for a fun project hehe
GX2 style cards go I gave my two EVGA GeForce GTX 295 Red Editions a special home in my living room VGA table xD
theyare 2 of 500 made worldwide too, making them the rarest production VGA cards ever made
