Re:Project: SR-2 STACKER 2011/02/19 14:27:45 (permalink)
@ Halo - i just used the mesh inserts form three (12 vents in total)  Bitspower Custom Design Radgard 480

Well that's probably just about the last of the pictures before it goes on its holidays on Monday.

All the vents mounted to the side panels and wiring almost complete and just the small 4:3" TFT to mount below the two reservoirs and double check everything is tight before it gets boxed up.

Got to say, i'm pretty happy with the way it turned out and just hope a few people stop by the Coolermaster stand at Cebit as it will be there all week from 1st March onwards but i'll makes sure to get a few pictures for those that don't make it.

Anyway, thanks to everyone who followed and especially those that posted as it makes it all worth while.

Cheers everyone for the kind words

Got back from CeBIT late Thursday / early Friday and just having a quick look around to see if there was any feedback from the Coolermaster booth.
Some awesome pictures taken by Shoggy from Aqua-Computer and also a few of the booth babes from the Bit-Tech forum by bigkingfun

Hey thanks for the awesome feedback

I got my hands on three Lamptron FC6 Fan Controllers with a red LED display which should look much more in keeping to the rest of the mod rather than the blue/green.
I was hoping that they would drop straight in to the original bezel i made but not a chance so i’ll have to cut a new bezel and have it powder coated to match...............as if i haven't got enough to do!

Still on the lookout for GTX 580 or 590's

Dude, you set EVGA history with the most BR's in a single thread.

Your hand work with that saw rivals my CNC.

Seriously... Look at your work:

and sit it side by side with a CNC...

I couldn't agree more with nateman. Your patience and precision is exquisite. This case is beautiful. It put the Dream Machine 2010 to shame as well, in both style and glory. Thank you for sharing your endeavors with us humble mortals :-)

This build is awesome, by far the best SR-2 case/mod I've ever seen! If I'm allowed to ask, are you willing to build such a case and how much would that aproximatly be?

Not a very active member on EVGA, but I must post here and comment.
This is the single most uber case mod and machine that I have ever seen.  Period.

I was going to build one but now I've seen this and I know mine wouldn't compare...

If you should ever get tired of this machine, PM me.

One of, if not the best case mods I have seen for an SR-2.  Like nateman_doo said, your craftsmanship may be old-school compared to CNC but it is amazing work.  Glad to see the fan controllers be changed to red as that was the only major problem I could see from the pictures.

Just a few questions: How is the top case attached to the bottom case?  Some method of screws, double sided tape, or something else?  Also, what does the small monitor show?  Temps, specs, etc.?

Re:Project: SR-2 STACKER 2011/05/06 01:16:14 (permalink)

Again, a massive thanks to all the really supportive comments and feedback.

@ ajohnes2 – i used a layer of double sided foam tape to stop any vibration noise then bolted the top section on so its a pretty rigid structure

The screen is a small 4.3"(16:9) TFT touchscreen which runs Windows 7 and i use it to give a constant readout and monitor temps etc.

Its a smaller widescreen version of the 6x5.6"(4:3) which i’ve used in various previous mods like the ones below...

Thanks for the quick reply.  Just thought I would make sure there was nothing amazing about the screen as well since everything else looks perfect to me.

Forgot to ask one other thing, how did you get that red color?  Did you use Mayhem dye or is there another brand that you used?  Mayhem dye for red seems to be out and for my next project, I am looking for a deep red like you are using.
