What would be a proper size hb bridge to go with a maximus hero alpha mb? does it make a difference? Kinda a noob question but I am kinda a noob anyway. Got a new computer build with 2 1080 ftw and was wanting to use this bridge.

Does using two single bridges actually make a difference? I was under the impression that it didn't.

ty for answers guys. it would be great to use full 650MHz on 2-way maxwells but i guess i'll hold on and wait for 1080ti, Hybrid or i may even get bold and try WCing with HydroCopper if there will be any.

I bought the 4 way here, i think i bought the right one, the EVGA one that i use today have something about 90/100 cm , i`m in Brazil so i cant measure in mm, the 4 way is the right one?
And i had to ask a friend from uSA to buy and ship to me to Brazil, no shipping to here

slots are 2.2 cm wide (approx). Its an industry standard. or 22 mm

The sli standard is 650 mhz you can't make two led bridges magically supersede what the gpus are doing.
My hb sli bridge arrives Monday :)

If the frequency and data leads and quality when under load of 2 of the current led bridges are the same as those of a HB bridge, then they are the same. if there is something else going on with the HB bridge other than marketing fluff - then time will tell. It doesn't appear there are extra signal or data leads which is what I initially thought.
During the early pcper interview with Tom Peterson of nvidia I was left the impression that there was something special in the HB bridge. But as I've come to realize, much of the early nvidia information, was misleading.

Oh I won't be surprised if they are the same. I'm just responding to "actually they (two led bridges)are better"
I just wanted a clean look and not have two led bridges. I can't use a three way bridge as I have a physx card and it wouldn't fit.
Besides the hb bridge costs the same or less than two of the led bridges currently out.

Click on the 1070 or 1080. It's on their page, as it's only capatible with them.

^^^This. Joker posted SLI results with the "old" bridge that showed almost 97% scaling, which is incredible. The HB bridge is not going to do anything but look good.

Both fingers must be connected for max performance. The LED bridges can operate at the higher clockspeed, but the fingers don't connect the same way. So, for max performance at higher resolutions, you need the newer bridge and can only do 2 way SLI for games.

If you have single finger LED bridges you could, but most are dual finger designs. That's why 2 ribbon or basic bridges work, they can't clock up to the higher bandwidth though. But again, there us a chart for resolution and which bridge is better.
Do the 2 way SLI bridges connect both fingers if so then you would be fine without the new ones.
