That is fine. You'll need to sumbit the logs to nvidia customer support. They'll help you figure it out.

Do you have secure boot on. I think people were complaining that gave them issues

Figured it out already. Damn, I'm good! My User Profile was corrupted. Created a new one and everything is fine. Now I'll spend all day copying everything to the new User Profile.

This is a lot more work than I remember. Now I have to login to every forum just to save my passwords. nVidia installer still works in this account anyway.

For the first time, I am having a very interesting issue.  When my TI goes into 3D mode...the base clock is 1190...but turbo's to 1392.  Once I am out of 3D, the clock of the card should drop to something like 235...but it stays at 1190 until I reboot.  These drivers are interesting...decent performance, but they don't seem to operate normally.  I even uninstalled using Driver Uninstaller but same thing happens....only with this version

MSI MAG X670-E Tomahawk;  Ryzen 7 7800X3D; Asus TUF RTX 4070 TI OC; Seasonic Vertex GX-1000 PSU; 32 GB  Corsair Vengeance DDR5-6000 CL30 RGB; Corsair iCue Link H150i LCD 360MM AIO; 2-Western Digital Black 4 TB SN850X NVMe; Creative SoundBlaster Z;  Lian Li Lancool III; Corsair K70 RGB Pro MX Speed Silver Keyboard; Razer Viper 8K Mouse

Shockjockey
The drivers installed a little different. First they uninstalled my drivers then rebooted my pc then installed new drivers. Seem to be working OK.

Shockjockey had some weird installation issues too. I hope it's just a coincidence that my User Profile became corrupted and unusable when I tried installing these.

Glad you got it sorted out Zuhl. I am on windows 10 and using a local account instead of the microsoft one. I dont know if that makes a difference or not for installing.

What's been bugging me is that everything was fine after I restored a System Image from earlier yesterday morning. I ran the installer and the new drivers installed just fine but when I tried to run the installer again I got that stupid error again.

I have been experiencing some weird gsync stuttering issue after installing this driver. In previous drivers 368.81, gsync stuttering would only be noticed if fps drops below 40. Now, I can clearly distinguish fps drop around 55-65fps despite having gsync on in Witcher 3 and NFS 16. Can anyone else confirm this? I am running 980 sli with ACER Xb271hu 1440p gsync monitor.

I am more than willing to go back to previous driver since this one doesn't really update any game profiles for me. Any help would be appreciated.

Checkout my list...

Here are the top causes of why a GPU would run at full clocks at idle...

#1 You're running multiple monitors. Fix: Enable mutil display power saver using nvidia inspector.
#2 Your machine has a virus. Fix: Scan computer using malwarebytes.
#3 One or more programs running in the background are using your GPU. Fix: Perform a clean boot of windows.
#4 Power management mode inside the nvidia control panel is set to prefer maximum performance. Fix: Set power management mode to adaptive then reboot your computer.
#5 Running a resolution of 2560x1440 @ 144Hz. Fix: Change refresh rate to 120Hz.
#6 K-Boost is enabled inside Precision X. Fix: Disable K-Boost.
#7 Shadowplay is enabled inside geforce experience. Fix: Disable shadowplay inside geforce experience OR completely uninstall geforce experience from your machine (highly recommended)

I have the same monitor and noticed a gain in performance with this driver and my Titan X . In BF4 same graphic settings I got a boost in fps !

This is even more odd about this driver!
Two Different Windows 10 Drivers now!
Maybe Microsoft should have called this version 10.1 like they did with Windows 8.0 and 8.1.

At least the same download file works on Both!

Last time I posted was several months ago after having talked to a tech about my multi monitor set-up and the GPU clock running high, 963mhz just by switching from 120 to 144 refresh rate. I never did hear anything back from the support people but this latest driver addressed this:

New Features:
Enabled mclk switches on 144 Hz G-SYNC monitors in multi-monitor use cases in order to lower power consumption.

Is this a switch I have to located and turn on or is it automatic? Because the issue doesn't seem to have been corrected.

A little followup on my previous post,

After a clean reinstall of the driver, my stuttering issue has diminished a lot. However, I was under the impression that stuttering due to fps dips are gone completely when using GSYNC (at least till it reaches 30 fps). that is not the case for me, at least in NFS 16. In other games, Overwatch 144hz, Fifa 16 144hz, Battlefield 4 120hz, GTA 5 90hz, I cannot tell if fps drop or any kind of stuttering, but in NFS 16 @ 75hz and occasionally Witcher 3 @ 60hz, I can tell for sure. Any info would be appreciated since I am new to GSYNC.

Does anyone have any info on the latest driver release and Nvida's attempt to address high GPU usage. The link Sajin posted is over a year old, as Staln20x points out.

The most recent diver states:

New Features:
Enabled mclk switches on 144 Hz G-SYNC monitors in multi-monitor use cases in order to lower power consumption.

Could someone address this specific new feature in the latest release as it doesn't appear to have resolved the problem with my three monitor set-up.

I Can't speak to G-Sync but my pair of 144 Hz monitors still inhibit the problem of not down clocking with a 144 Hz refresh rate but will at 120 Hz.

Latest drivers of course

Seems like 3-way and 4-way profiles have been removed, at least for the Witcher 3, from these drivers. Got terrible performance and saw that only 2 out of my 4 cards were being used, any changes or forcing all 4 cards to work resulted in terrible performance. Going back to older drivers fixed the issue. I hope they're not getting rid of multi-GPU support for older hardware too...

Djmorgan,

One, two, or three monitor set-ups all behave differently with the same drivers and whether or not g-sync is enabled. Then when you adjust various refresh rates for each monitor the GPU usage goes wild. Nvida inspector also has no effect with my set-up but folks with single monitors seem to all work fine.

I'm starting to think it may be more a hardware limitation (design) that won't be fixed with any software driver change. But after close to a year it would have been nice to hear back from Nvida about my ticket or at least address the problem in general for everyone.

Then again, despite addressing the high GPU usage in this and at least one other driver update, Nvida seems to think a software fix is possible but I don't understand how they determine their fixes are working when they never do. A bit of a disconnect between the lab and real world.

I wouldn't Doubt that Nvidia is disabling 3 and 4-way profiles in their latest drivers for the New Pascal cards AND the Older Hardware also.
They seem to have become inflexible about anything over 2-way SLI profiles except for a few  Benchmarking programs that allow 3 and 4-way SLI to work.

This better not be true or I'm gonna flip.

As far as I can tell it is the case. In Doom only 2 cards are being utilized also (but here performance is fine even with 2 at 4k resolution). What is really irritating is that Nvidia OFFICIALLY supported up to 4-way SLI with Maxwell, retroactively removing it from titles that PREVIOUSLY HAD working profiles is extremely puzzling, not to mention irritating!

Doom doesn't support more than 2-way.

Doom doesn't support more than 2-way.

Still, Witcher 3 had a working profile for 4 cards and I was getting 60 FPS constant at 4k with my setup and max settings. After installing these drivers my performance dropped to 40s, checking GPU utilization showed only 2 cards utilized. Going back to 368 drivers restored usage of all 4 cards, attempting to force 4-way SLI mode from within the control panel caused single-digit performance.
