Then I look back at my PC and play all of my favorite games, running so buttery smooth all maxed out... and I remind myself that it was worth it.

Yea they are really beautiful. I don't know why I think they are so beautiful. Even the non back plate pcb that usually bothers me on other cards looks like the Death Star in Star Wars to me.

The monthly statement is gonna hurt. Bumped the ram to 64gb, got another ssd, a backup power supply, additional parts for the water loop ...... and still eyeing a 40" 4k monitor.

Fully watercooled including backplate was a success.

Firestrike Ultra with +335 core overclock, max temperature was 26C on GPU1 and 31C on GPU2.  Backplates are cold to the touch since I circulate 55F water.

The plumbing was nuts even by my standards:

And yes, this would work with quad SLI.

The backplates were 30 euros apiece plus shipping.  Went with the nickel plated ones from EK.  Cold plates were $65 I think apiece, had to trim one down to accomodate RAM heatspreaders.  3M 8805 thermal tape to adhere the coldplate to the backplate was $53 for 7"x36" sheet.  I used about 4 feet of 3/8" ID tubing to attach to the coldplates from the main waterblocks and that's $3.50 / ft since I only use Tygon 2275 or Tygon 2475.  Both plasticizer free.

Also Fujipoly 11w/mC thermal pads, which I think I used about $25 worth for both cards.
