Farcry 3 looked the same as the trailers even  better.  the only reason ya think it looked better is because they used different camera angles and such    to give it a more cinematic feel.

and what we saw  @  E3 is what we will get for finale quality graphics if not better  as the versions we seen are the PS4 version  i think

Modder harnesses hidden files to improve Watch Dogs PC graphics

We are not talking about  watch-dogs    and WD was  bad when ti came to that but  FC4  @ E3  looks   damn good and should look the same as  it did then when it is relased  .   WDs  was shown  in 2012 and what was shown off was a small slice of  gameplay  with everything thrown  in that they wished to  try and have in the finale game  it was a tast  to show there vision they was trying to make .

WD uses a differasnt engine also   a custom one while  FC4 uses   a heavily modified  Dunia 2 engine used in Facry 3

No disrespect, but I think you may not be understanding the real story here. It has nothing to do with the game or it's engine and everything to do with Ubisoft

Not entirely correct, look at this video here, you can see that some parts of the E3 trailer look better then the retail pc version

actual PC retail the water looks better, but in the E3 trailer the vegetation looks more dense and better. Taking visual quality out is a cheat way to help performance then it is to optimize the game engine. Ubisoft basicly took the easy way out of it.

Seems like it'll be worth while.
Far Cry 3 had a lot of fun elements, but replayability was bad and it sort of fell short in a range of its limitations...

I believe it'll be good, but how different from the third, and if they're pulling a COD release cycle.... I'm unsure.

FC4 runs fine on 980gtx, just waiting for the day one patch to enable official SLI support for my 3x980s.

?  The game comes out the 18th, so how are you playing it?

This is one of the games I got free for buying my 970 FTWs, so I won't be able to complain.  I'm ready to see how well my 970s can handle this game.

I was able to pre-load the game today. By pre-load I mean I was able to download it but can't play it until tomorrow. I'm only 44% of the way through Far Cry 3. I'm stuck after the waterfall scene where I have to use stealth to take down a guard from behind and make it through the town. I'm not very stealthy.

I'm stuck on that very same spot! I almost made it through a couple of times too. :<
Trying to find some hints on making it through. I've done all the side-quests already.

Looking forward to pumping this (FC3 and 4) through my new GTX980 SC ACX 2.0!

The farthest I got was going straight, killing the dog and hiding under the hut in the water. I almost made it to the tower to get the RPG but died running up the ladder. So I'm looking to get to a helicopter, eh? I would have figured it out sooner or later anyway.

Yeah, stealth is your friend to get rid of the first two enemies. I remember also hiding under a building to avoid those on alert, but not in the water, and went up the ladder and took out the rooftop enemy. Throwing rocks help and that RPG does come in handy.

The RPG is supposed to come in handy to kill a truck full of reinforcements on the bridge but by the time I almost got it from the tower the troops had already dispersed and were hiding behind rocks to ambush me when I crossed the bridge to get to the alleged helicopter that I haven't gotten close enough to see yet.

Stealth through the first section and blast your way through the second area.
Make sure you equip an RPG or grenades, or have heavy takedown - you'll need em in the second part.
Watch out for Vas though, he'll be there hiding somewhere ;)

Game looks pretty amazing actually. I am only playing it at 2560x1440 and high settings and it looks amazing. I cannot imagine what it looks like on ultra. Ubisoft made a PC game alright, now to listen to the complaints of people not being able to play it with a 750.

EDIT: Would have been good, but stutters like MADNESS! The game stutters like crazy. Glad I didn't pay anything for it, was free with my video card.

There is a new 344.75 driver released for Far Cry 4 available at http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us
I'm gonna update driver and then try playing. I should be awake in a few minutes here.

The game looks good, but I cant stop the volatility in framerate. And it causes some massive screen tearing even with Vsync. My setup is getting older, but I dont think it should be performing this badly.

Also, all ambient occlusion modes break the game except SSAO. HBAO and SBAC cause the shadows to be pitch black. MSAA does the same thing, and a lot of the other options dont load properly. I probably just need to update some things.

My FPS is good running at Ultra settings but for some reason I can't get my guns to reload or fire using the LMB button. I just got back from shopping and I will give it another go after I reboot. At first it kept locking up and stopped responding at launch until I disconnected my joystick. There's some kind of conflict between controllers and the mouse/keyboard inputs. I just gotta remember to plug it back in before I play BF3 or BF4.

I'm happy though that my PS4 controller works in Far Cry 4 AND Assassin's Creed Unity. Even the touchpad thing works perfectly. Loving this trend.

Except there is not button on the PS4 controller that brings up the crafting menu. So I have to press M still. I dont know why.

Edit: After the 1.03 Patch, SLI works a lot better. Still stutters a bit, which is annoying. But the performance is much better now.

My FPS is 80 to 120 average with RAM usage at 2943 MB max using Ultra. My core clock is 1499 MHz at boost. There were only one or two minor stutters for me so far.

I'm curious, if you still have to use a keyboard why would you use a controller? I've never owned a console so I've not much experience with controllers. I've always read that PC gamers using a keyboard and mouse always have an advantage over those using controllers. I'm rather naive on this subject, but I've always thought that it might be fun to have a wireless controller so that I can kick back and play from a distance.

Some games have terrible PC Controls. Most third person games do. So for Assassins Creed Unity, I was really happy that my DS4 works and all the icons in game actually use the Playstation Icons.

I just wanted to see if in Far Cry 4 this was the case too. And it was. I might not use a controller for my entire playthrough, but I am just testing it out because this is all new to me. You could use a playstation controller if you remapped the keyboards keys or used an Xbox Controller Emulator, but now it shows Playstation Icons and its just so cool to me. lol.

OK, thanks, that might explain why I don't like third person games.

On second thought, are you saying most third person games have great PC Controls?

Yeah. A lot of third person games on PC have really weird controls imo.

Especially the assassins creed games. Absolutely terrible. Moving around isnt too bad, but fighting, parrying, selecting weapons, etc. is abysmal.

Unless you wanna play a game that has massive stutter issues so bad that you'll have to turn your settings down no matter how good your system is just to play a smooth game.

Then dont buy it

If they dont fix the stutter, im never buying another pc game from ubisoft.

Its a shame cuz its a really fun game otherwise.
