haha UBSuck, pretty much the worst publishing and development house in the gaming industry ATM.

I'm still looking forward to Far Cry 4 but I am not paying retail price for it at all, UBSuck has a history of botching PC releases.  Not only that they called the PC Gaming community 95% of them are pirates and nothing more.  Played what little time I could with FC3 and it was fun and I enjoyed FC2.... Did not care for FC1.

So with the new promotion that nVidia has put out I'm gonna pick up FC4 but I sure as heck probably won't play this game for another few months down the road.  I don't want to deal with a broken game out the gate and be frustrated because they couldn't be bothered to put out a working product day one, a la AssCreed Unity is a pile of turd on all systems right now.

I'm getting the feeling that it might be better to have a card with 4GB+ memory if you want to take advantage of textures...just a theory.

I have a 4GB 980 and it still stutters on anything above med textures. I monitor vram usage and it does not run out while playing.

OK, I looked at your MODS RIGS data when thinking about this, and it showed you were running a 780 Ti Classified. I guess that theory is out the door.

I don't believe this for a second - there are MANY ways of patching any bit of software.
This sounds like PR (Deleted for Foul Language) to me.

Nope.  I haven't purchased a UBSuck game since AssCreed 2.  I got AssCreed 3 free, same with Far Cry 3 from promotional giveaways.  Just like how I'm gonna get FC 4 for free since I just purchased a GTX 980.

Don't get me wrong, Ubisoft makes great games... They just don't give a damn about their PC release and it pretty much have been this way since the 7th generation consoles.

I got this game free with a purchase of an additional Samsung EVO SSD.  I'm running it at ultra everything except for MSAA anti-aliasing, and it is running butter smooth for me.  The game for the most part stays at 80 FPS, and runs better on my machine than Far Cry 3 does.

Still sticks.

FC3 was so much better plus easy on my setup.

All ultra, god rays, motion blur on and FPS were 21 while looking down towards an open area in the start. Turn AO and AA off and 50 frames per second!.

Annoying small hiccups too as you move forward.

Nice that I can understand the enemies language!. Caught me by surprise in the start!.

Just don't bother running in sli unless you want to give up aa and you actually have to change modify the killbits to the FarCry 3 killbit settings if you want to see at night. It needs new drivers or maybe I should just uninstall it and never buy a Ubisoft game again. Another annoying thing is...How many god darn windows do ya need to open the game?? I mean seriously. Open Steam, open Uplay and then the game opens. Is this a well thought out procedure? Idk. it's kind of pathetic.

Can anybody please comment on the SLI performance of 2x EVGA GTX770's?
There's a video (below) with similar specs to mine, and I think I am finally ready to buy this game (or at least commit to it in the near future). Played the prologue on a mates PC, enjoyed the first part. I've simply had to turn off SLI in all recent Ubilol game  release profiles to get them playable, but it really would be nice to have another game I enjoy that actually uses more potential of my system than the other games I own...
Information I'm after:
  • General SLI compatibility with recent patches
  • Any information to update the SLI profile manually (or just copy Far Cry 3 SLI specs)
  • SLI case studies using the same GPU setup as me (2xGTX770)
Can anybody share the above information?

kidcrumbuse SLI. Its why I bought two cards in the first place!.
Too true. Nvidia and Ubisoft have only a short window in which to redeem themselves and fix multi-GPU issues. I can not believe they are going to remove the NVIDIA preset with patch 1.05, going by that news i doubt Nvidia hairworks will be implemented, the yaks with long flowing hair would probably cause huge slow downs no doubt though. I doubt Ubisoft will want to use nvidia gameworks next time?. I just don't get it, all this superior powerfull pc hardware and game software lets it all down on the windows platform.

Did more testing and I am surprised at the awful all over the place FPS this game has.

At the lowest settings, all low and off what can be, I get 60 FPS and at some places, like when you open the door in the start, 30FPS!. I wonder what happens when you progress a bit more further. What happens when animals come etc etc.

A clear case of Nvidia paying the devs to make everyone jump to at least GTX 970 to play this game at ultra. I dont wanna know what people above 1080p need!.

well...yea the game is not running very well on PC but really how long did you plan on that 660 lasting before it was just EOL? another 6 months? a year at most? You haven't been able to max out a game with it for quite a while as it is. Yea Ubisoft did a very very poor job on the PC version but come on...

Played about 5 hrs of FC 4 yesterday on my new 980 SC.  No crashes, very few hiccups... A few stutters.  A great experience if you have the necessary juice. Everything ultra... maxed out...  TXAA...  Average  50-ish fps... About 3 gigs of vram.

You are here to bash me and my GTX 660 now?.

I am on 900p so it should work. The recommended settings on geforce.com are a lie.

Come one what?. Start buying new GPU every year?. Good for you. I know where I stand. All I am showing is how poor this game is.

BTW, I do play most games on ultra without a hitch. This coming from a guy who doesn't care about eye candy.

EOL... lol

Played about 5 hrs of FC 4 yesterday on my new 980 SC.  No crashes, very few hiccups... A few stutters.  A great experience if you have the necessary juice. Everything ultra... maxed out...  TXAA...  Average  50-ish fps... About 3 gigs of vram.

My PC runs circles around yours and it stutters like hell max settings... Maybe, you are just oblivious to the issues? Happy ignorance?

He did write 'very few hiccups, a few stutters'. :p

Anyways, shows what a turd this game is. Considering he is on 1080p, you need THAT kind of PC to get 50'ish FPS. What damn ground damn breaking graphics are we getting BTW?.

All lies. This game REQUIRES a 4gB card and not a 2gB until unless you play on medium.

Cool it guys, I don't want another thread lock over people fighting :(
We can all agree it works great and bad - depending entirely on your setup.

OK. I will make sure I buy a titan black and a 5960x because its my setup and not this awesomely optimized game.

Forgive me.
