@Mack4033: wow, your CPU must be a special one.. @4,3 I need 1,4V and more..
What's the batch of your 875k?
Is the 1,18V under load or idle?
Please post your complete BIOS settings soon..

@radipc: please post your BIOS settings, especially the K-Boost and CPU Options (C-States, TurboMode / core ratio offset)
Disable K-Boost and set Turbo Core Ratio to 0.

Turbo and speedstep must be enabled, only multi core ratio offset must set to 0.
C1E disabled, C-States 6 could be enabled.

hi

so i is ok i have the cpu ratio at 29 on windows !

but this motherboard is for extrem oc !

i don't want the turbo and the speedstep !

when i desabled speedstep and turbo the ratio in windows stay at 24 !

but i think the cpu is at 133*29 because if i put the ratio a 30 or 31 i have bsod !

so how i can have the good ratio cpu in windows ??

many thanks

First of all,.... Thread bumbing is not allowed here. (especially on a sticky thread)!!!

Second.... it's not possible to use a multi higher than 24, without using TurboMode and Speedstep.
But there is no problem with that... if you set the CPU core ratio offset to 0,0,0,0 - then the system works f.E. with 133x 29.

If you getting a bsod, you'll need more vcore on the cpu.
And the classified is the best P55 EVGA Board, of course, but it don't work without any knowledge .. ;)
For extreme-oc, you need first of all, a good cooling.
And please don't say: I've a corsair H50 - that's nothing for extreme-oc.
If you want more, try to increase the BLCK (for that, VTT must be increased too).
160x28 = 4.480 MHz ;)

Re:EVGA P55 Motherboards - BIOS 72 Released 2010/10/20 00:37:53 (permalink)
sorry for the Thread bumbing

no i don't have h50 !! i have a big cooper bucket !

i know the classified is the best motherboard but for a screen for example i can't have my good frequency on cpuz because the ratio go down at 9 !

i know overclocking on p55 ! and the bsod is just for say : i think in the bios the cpu ratio is realy at 29 but on windows he stay at 24 !

so i test this evening with  the CPU core ratio offset to 0,0,0,0

thanks ans have a good day !

Suicide or stable?
I can push it to the same level, but not with this vcore.
Mack, please post your settings or send me a pm.

Thx

  1. Set ram to target memory frequency  my ram is  Perfect Storm so 2133 MHZ  8-8-8-24 (2:10)
  1. Boot up CPU  V.Core [1.32500v] but I know this is to low to support the 4.2MHZ oc Eventual CPU V.Core [ 1.32500v]   “        so I se the following; 1.38750 and 1.41875
  2. [ With V.Droop]
  3. Boot up CPU VTT   [ Auto] again look  out the voltages could be very high
Eventual CPU VTT  [Auto] but my setting did not boot up so I added my voltages 1.40 and 1.42 Yes  booted up I have created a list of voltages from 4.20 -5.0 MHZ  up to 4.8 has worked for me based on my 870 chip and my voltage noted
4.6’s 1.42-1.47, 4.7’s 1.48-1.54, 4.8’s 1.55-1.58, 4.9’s 1.58-1.62, 5.0’s 1.64-1.67
PCH 122’s,CPU PLL 190’s, CPU PWM 1189
  1. 5.      Lock in Dimm Voltages mine are 1.64
  2. 6.      CPU Multiplier 9-60  wow
  3. 7.      Not sure here CPU Frequency 2133 MHZ for ram lock in our ram setting
  4. 8.      CPU Multiplier 20= 4.266, 21=4.480,22=4.693,24=5.120

is it possible with the lasted bios to have a fixed cpu ratio ?
because with the spedstep the ratio go down and it's not possible to have a screen at the good frequency !

thanks

The Heatkiller 3.0 is the best.. in all european benches / tests, the heatkiller is at at the top of the class.
Only the Aquacomputer Kyros (new) is in some tests a little bit better.
23°Celsius or fahrenheit? :D

And .. after 2 hours of load?

BTW: i think, we are not right here in this thread ;)

  • First go into your BIOS and load defaults, save and exit
  • Go into the folder where you unzipped this package and run the appropriate batch file.
    • For Windows XP, Vista or 7 32Bit: AFUWIN32.BAT
    • For Windows XP, Vista or 7 64Bit: AFUWIN64.BAT
    • If in DOS Mode: AFUDOS.BAT
  • Press Y in CAPITAL LETTERS to start the flash process
  • DO NOT TURN OFF POWER OR RESET DURING THE FLASH PROCESS
  • After the flashing is finished, shut down the computer. Then power on again and go into BIOS, Load Defaults, Save and Exit.

which OS you're using?

Hi;

I am hoping you may be able to help me, or any one else that knows more than me :)  I have an i7 875k w/ the P55 Classified. I have not been able to get it to run properly with either the A71 or A72 BIOS. I am using the A70 with K Boost, Base Clock @ 133 x 29 ratio = 3857, Turbo On, Speed Step On, V Core 1.33, VTT 1.325. Totally stable and low temps.

The "Turbo Offset" is messing with me every time I try a newer BIOS (A71 plus). The brand new E-Leet is showing a 29 multiplier on all 4 cores with the A70 BIOS. Any idea of what I am doing wrong? I see that you mention turning the Offsets to "0". Are you also turning K Boost off? I don't care about "Turbo", I would rather have a higher multiplier and use SpeedStep to drop the ratio when the juice is not needed. Am I missing something? Does the P55 HAVE to use Turbo?

My last build was a Core 2 Quad 6600 on an EVGA 750i, so I am a n00b with this chipset. Any help would be greatly appreciated, and sorry in advance for any stupid questions!!!

Thanks!

You do not have to run turbo boost . It's safe to disable it in the bios . I also prefer higher clocks but instead of using speedstep I disable that and use cstate . It works best for me .

I am confused what the issue is... what are your goals for the overclock? Speed? Turbo? Power Savings?

I have  had the best luck controlling A72 it still has it's issues but I have figured most of them out. If you just want all cores to be a certain multiplier the easiest way is to turn off K-boost set the multiplier to 22 which is stock setting then Enable C-State, Enable Speedstep, Enable turbo mode and engage the offset control for the four core settings 1,2,3,4 if you set all of these to 8 for example it will take your base multi (22) and add the offset clock (8) this would give you a solid 4.0ghz(30*133=3990mhz) at the standard blck setting 133. I would also turn off power saving features (automatic voltage adjustments) EIST and C1E which can throw off the stability until you know how your chip will react. Your current voltage should work as long as vdroop does not take it much lower than 1.3v. Give that a shot and if you have any other questions just shoot it back on this forum I will be happy to help a fellow 875k owner.
