Only one Verification?

Can someone tell me if their having this issue?

When saving OC settings to any BIOS profile the one thing that it will not recall is the Turbo Ratio Limit Program Enabled / Disabled setting and  the Core Ratio Limit offset setting.

Thanks

This has been addressed previously you must leave c-state on in order for the turbo mode to work since it controls the core shut off procedures. My suggestions c1e -off; speedstep-on; turbo-on; c-state-on then set a stabilized voltage and have fun tuning your brand new dynamic oc

Re:EVGA P55 Motherboards - BIOS 72 Released 2010/10/09 02:06:53 (permalink)
EVGA p55 Le + I5 750 does not have any luck with the dynamic OC thing, furthermore it does not have the turbo offset option in BIOS.

I can make it stable at 3.6GHz, however when x24 multiplier kicks in, the voltage is too high (1.36V), I can disable dynamic OC and just do locked 3.6GHz OC however I want to take advantage of the power features. I thought eventual Vcore setting can limit the Vcore upper threshold, but it is only a Vcore setting when ALL 4 cores are under load.

Tried playing with C1E off and Without Vdrop, only makes Vcore higher and OC less stable.

Edit:
Actually my dynamic OC not stable at 3.6GHz (150x24). With 2 threads running with Prime95, it runs for 10 min then locks up. 95% it's at 1.36V, 5% it's at 1.2V, CPU temp goes as high as 59C. At the lock up screen it shows 54C.  BIOS setting: Vcore=1.2V, Vtt=1.1V, DDR=1.6V, PCH=1.8V

vcore=1.2 seems far too low turn off c1e, enable speedstep-turbo mode set the multi and blck you want to achieve 3.6ghz  then try 1.30vcore the rest of your settings seem ok as long as your ram is within spec.

My primary need is to limit upper threshold of Vcore, turning off C1E does not work at least for my setup. By the way, many times when the X24 multiplier kicks in (150x24=3.6GHz), the Vcore on cpuz still show 0.9V briefly, for rest of stress test, it is at 1.35V. And if I increase Vcore to 1.3V in BIOS, when turbo mode (X24) is on, it will increase Vcore to 1.45V!! A bit too much. Anything else I can try? With static OC, I can do 4GHz with 1.3V.

Vcore and multiplier changes from 0.9V/X9 to 1.XXV/X24 on the fly, thereby saving power.
I could easily do static OC at 4GHz however I want to take advantage of the power features of I5.
It is quite frustrating because the OC can pass stress test but playing a video or opening a web page
may still crash it. In the EVGA P55 LE BIOS where I can change CPU frequency, it also showed
"Turn off Turbo and  for better OC" So you can imagine how hard it is.

Re:EVGA P55 Motherboards - BIOS 72 Released 2010/10/11 16:36:00 (permalink)
C1E controls the voltage stepping for the turbo mode so that is probably your main problem with it, I was having the same issue. C1E-off allows your mobo to maintain a stable vcore however this will not take full advantage of the power saving the board has capability for. Until more information becomes available for the turbo voltage and current offsets I will stay away from those as well because I have had nothing but trouble tuning with them... We need to be able to control the voltage steps for C1E in the next bios update (is anyone listening? )

Been enjoying the best dynamic and static OC's I've ever had with 1156 using my sig rig for the last two months.

The EVGA P55 FTW wouldn't even sell for $140 shipped, at any forum marketplace. Luckily it can handle the i3-530 I have; my son doesn't OC so it works out great.

Good luck with BIOS improvements.

Will this Bios update benefit me ,using a Core i7 860?  Right now I am rock stable at 4.1 GHz. ,and I am pretty happy . I am using 205 Bclock x20 multi .I am using a Noctua Nh-D14 ,and I would like to see if I can go higher .

After a lot of tests,  I can say..

it will not recall is the Turbo Ratio Limit Program Enabled / Disabled setting and  the Core Ratio Limit offset setting.

You're right @thegcpu: the settings wont recall .. Profile 1 got the same core ratio limit offset like profile 2.
So it's not saved or recall correct.

have you tried to enable the c-state setting it must be enabled to using the turbo offset unless you are just using it as a standard one speed oc

Having a little trouble getting into the bios -

When the P55 screen loads, I hit the "del" key - takes me right to "select OS" screen. When I try it right before the P55 screen, it does the same. When I try a second into the loading P55 screen, it also does the same.

Am I totally missing something here? Before I just used to hit the "del" key when the P55 screen popped up..

Only way I have been getting in, is clear cmos.

From my testing
  1. Set ram to target memory frequency  my ram is  Perfect Storm so 2133 MHZ  8-8-8-24 (2:10)
  1. Boot up CPU  V.Core [1.32500v] but I know this is to low to support the 4.2MHZ oc Eventual CPU V.Core [ 1.32500v]   “        so I se the following; 1.38750 and 1.41875
  2. [ With V.Droop]
  3. Boot up CPU VTT   [ Auto] again look  out the voltages could be very high
Eventual CPU VTT  [Auto] but my setting did not boot up so I added my voltages 1.40 and 1.42 Yes  booted up I have created a list of voltages from 4.20 -5.0 MHZ  up to 4.8 has worked for me based on my 870 chip and my voltage noted
4.6’s 1.42-1.47, 4.7’s 1.48-1.54, 4.8’s 1.55-1.58, 4.9’s 1.58-1.62, 5.0’s 1.64-1.67
PCH 122’s,CPU PLL 190’s, CPU PWM 1189
  1. 5.      Lock in Dimm Voltages mine are 1.64
  2. 6.      CPU Multiplier 9-60  wow
  3. 7.      Not sure here CPU Frequency 2133 MHZ for ram lock in our ram setting
  4. 8.      CPU Multiplier 20= 4.266, 21=4.480,22=4.693,24=5.120

Thanks,
