Sorry guys I haven't reply in the last days because at that time I didn't have any news but yesterday our R&D chief said that we might have pictures this weekend and that the block should be done in a week or so.  That the latest news I have.  I know it's not much but this is what I have so far.

That sounds like very good news to me....

AMD Ryzen 9 7950X,  Corsair Mp700 Pro M.2, 64GB Corsair Dominator Titanium DDR5  X670E Steel Legend, MSI RTX 4090 Associate Code: H5U80QBH6BH0AXF. I am NOT an employee of EVGA

As always, I would be surprised that the EVGA backplate would fit natively.  It doesn't mean that you could not achieve it by providing your own screws.

Will ek have a specific backplate that exposes switches and such? I know on the 780ti variant, everything was covered, which upset some people.

I want to grab 3 of these and thee plexis terminals, asap.

I'm not sure i'm following you.  I don't recall seeing switches on the back of the card.  Usually switches are on the edge (facing the front) so a backplate would not interfere.

Ek covered these exact switches with the Rev 2 backplate on the 780ti Classified K|ngp|n backplate that they released.

Please inform them that there should be cut-outs if they are creating an ek backplate.

A solid backplate would interfere to a frustrating level.

You're awesome, thank you. My 780ti Classy's able being fitted with ek backplates to replace the EVGA ones. I think it will give a cleaner look overall.

Can you ask also what screws size comes with the blocks. As much as I appreciate an ek backplate. I really like the original backplate (which is designed for this card and has the properly exposed areas)  seems redundant to pay for another. I am guessing we just need slightly longer version of whatever screws are used with the block.

Random tangent, but EK would make a killing if they made an integrated backplate-waterblock and some sort of link that tied it to the front-side waterblock.

I got the answer from Niko and you won't be happy.  The backplates aren't gonna have the cutouts for the switches for aesthetics reasons.  So you might have to try to fit your EVGA backplate on it if you want to access your switches.  Sorry about that.

Usualy we use M3 screws to secure our blocks.  So it should be the same for this one too.  As for the length, that would have to be confirmed by a customer.

I will look into fitting the stock backplates.  Thank you Luc.

Any idea when they may be in the store?  I have to work and can't spam this thing constantly, but I am trying so I can pick up the blocks.

also, the last gen required m3x6 or m3x8(with thin plastic washer) and the backplate would fit perfect, but the screws will not be recessed into the backplate, they will be visible.  Black screws hide well.

They should be available somewhere during next week.  The blocks are currently being mass produced.

Grabbed one so far.. Waiting for my money to be released to grab the other two.  Thank you Luc.  Also, it very clearly states "Not Compatible with EVGA Backplate."  I will see if I can figure out how to work that out, but since EVGA uses much smaller screws, I have a feeling these won't have backplates anymore.

The EKFC backplate showed sold out right away as well.

I picked up 2 earlier. Didn't get the Ek backplate. It was in stock when I ordered though, as I grabbed the blocks moment it popped up almost. There has to be a way to make the stock plates fit. I guess if I can't make it fit I will give up eventually and grab ek ones. the 780ti one just required screws and nothing else. I remember some required enlarging the holes on the backplate, which I am hesitant to do lol.

Btw any experience ordering from EK direct to USA. Never have before.

I'm in Canada and when I buy gear directly on the EK website, it usually take 2-3 days of shipping and the customs aren't "too" crazy.  I'm pretty sure it must be the same in the US.

Went with the black. My build is all black and white. The clear would work too, but since I can't see the face the block that much doesn't really matter to me. Was a tough choice but it came down to I don't like the sli terminal in clear so I went with the triple black terminal and black blocks.

Hi,

Can u guys post some clocks when you get your full blocks hooked up, no much info around on how 980kpe's will perform under water understandably due to absence of water blocks.  I'm interested in difference between the stable on air clocks to stable water clocks.  Hopefully we see some promising results as I'm hesitant of outlaying 1k for a full custom water loop/block just to gain a  measley 100Mhz over air, just being practical would rather put monies to another card or Titan X.
