Sometimes not all pictures are being loaded. (But mostly occurs in thread with lots and lots of pictures - could be ISP connection issue perhaps)

If you want to get people over here, tell them that their post count on the old (existing) forums will be replaced with their post count on these new forums, and that the count total here is based on the number they were at a week or so ago when the counts were transferred here.

Some people like to show off their counts, and this would be enough to motivate them over. Not knowing what will happen is enough to keep them from coming over.

Ok I was told to bring this here... Dont want to beat a dead horse but we have gat to do something about the color, at first i thought it was me but when i asked the wife to check it out then, called a couple of friends told them to stop by and check it out... All of use came up with the same thing, Its not bad if u sit in a well lit room or office or its a real sunny day out, but the majority of us who like the dark cant look at the scren let alone try to read it, it need to be darker...

Ok next thing that I notoced is the old forums u hit refresh and blam big bold black print there is a new post in that section lets go see it... Here on the new forums there is this little flaming yellow light that is hard to see and makes ur eyes bug out, could we maybe make it easier to tell if there is a new post or something like the old forums...

Really trying hard not to complain and makes suggestions but as you can tell by the lack of people over here there is definetly probles that need addressed...

Other than that for me it is great, fast, has some nice features...

We're trying to come up with something for this theme.  The background MUST be light at least in the middle in order to see the text and links.  Due to the nature of how the forums are made, it's not an easy task to change the style of a specific link or text.

We had it all gray like the French forums are now, but it was just overwhelmingly gray.  We will come up with something soon, I might just spend the time and reprogram the styles to make it a black background.

I'm not sure if it's a bug really, but something I have noticed...so I'll report.  I can't post in this new forum from my ipod touch.  I can in the old forum and about 6 other forums I belong to, but not the new one.  I can navigate the forum, see everything, and even all the buttons work, except when I hit the message box I get no cursor or keyboard on the ipod.  I can even start a new thread and type in the subject line.....but not in the body.  Strange and a minor annoyance.....but then again it's an ipod, not a computer.

Other than that this forum is working great on Firefox 3.5.3 in Windows7 64-bit, Ubuntu 9.04, and XP Pro.  It is pretty snappy too.

Re:Bugs and Suggestions 2009/10/27 11:42:03 (permalink)
I've widened the quick reply box (but really for images you should open the full version, that's not a quick reply).

Also I've temporarily taken out the background to at least relieve eye-strain for people.  I was personally never able to recreate the issue even on my giant monitor at home.  We're going to come up with some more permanent solution as soon as possible.

The issue with the gradient is complicated.  This particular skin was made from the ground up to have a light background.  If this were an HTML site, I could easily take control of the various bits of text outside the posts to make them whatever color I wanted, but this is ASP.NET dynamically generated text, so it's not an easy task to change things deep within the forum code.

I'm going to leave it like this for the time being while we work out other options.

+1

i notice that, wider reply box and black background, awesome!

yes sir, Forums are going all the way like it should! great job ;D

btw, you should start closing threads older then 30 days and low traffic areas in the Old Forums IMHO!

Okay, what is this pop up I keep seeing when I enter and use the forum such as this:

http://www.aspplayground.net/forum/test/license.aspx

It doesn't look like it belongs here to me.

Probably not a good idea to click on and wonder what or where and asks for "validation" of some kind.

Sorry for being clueless what it was, normally I use IE8 64-bit and turn all pop-ups off, or Minefiled/Firefox and that keeps them away (and javascript on a leash!)

The only thing I can really see wrong is the timezone settings seem to be messed up.

Like right now I'm in GMT 5- and its an hour early (its 12:26 but shows at 11:26) I think its Day Lights Savings time messing it up and not updated to the new standard.

I'm also having the problem with having to hit the back button over and over to get it to go back 1 page. I'm having the problem in IE8 and Firefox 3.5 on a fresh install of Windows 7 x64.

Same here with the Back Button. It does not matter which one browser, keyboard and mouse . As for browsers FireFox 3.6b1, Firefox 3.3.5.4, Chome and IE 8, all the same.

Thank you for resizing the Quick Reply box.

Is there anyway to make everything smaller (less scrolling involved), like the older forums? Only for the main Welcome forums page?

Same problem as others, the forum sends me to everything I click on twice:

Resulting in me having to hit back 2x to go back to the previous page.

I don't like the fact that when you select the 7 series sub-menu, there is no further breakdown of the boards menu select wise, i.e. 750, 780, 790, etc.  Basically all of the postings for that particular series board will all be lumped together, unlike the standard forums where you can post under your board's sub-menu. In some cases, the old way is the better way.

Re:Bugs and Suggestions 2009/10/28 09:01:48 (permalink)
Am I the only one experiencing this???
I'm using IE8 and a logitech MX mouse.  Setpoint Ver. 4.60.122
When I click on a post and the page loads, I have to click on the page before the mose wheel will scroll the page.  Its only when I go all the way into an individual post.  The wheel works before that.
When I want to go back it takes three clicks of the mouses back button before it will take me back to the previous page.

If I click on the smilies and decide not to use one in my post, I click the X to close it and I get kicked up to the top of the page.

Is there a way to create groups under the "User Group" Panel in the "Member list"?

I have my Classified Crew and I know it would be really easy to keep track of who all is in and who wants to be a part of the group that way.
