Was on water for the last 4 years.  Upgrading was too annoying for me, so I took it all out and redid the whole system.

Are the 1080 Ti SC and/or SC2 PCBs going to be the stock PCB layout, despite having iCX coolers? While I might be ditching my existing liquid setup, I'm still curious if existing Titan X (Pascal) blocks (that will fit on FE cards) will fit on the SC / SC2 variants.

Wow so it's really true. No more 2 fan FTW. It's literally a 2 month wait to get the FTW3 with dual 8 pin and more power phases. Awesome. Totally waiting 2 months for roughly the same performance that's available today. Come on guys.

    Hi to all,

I was on the phone with EVGA and people with EVGA GTX 1080 Classified as EVGATech_ChrisB stated wil have a 120 days special step up program only to 1080Ti Founders Edition.  That is currently available for step up program to all. According to what I was told, the 1080Ti FTW3 will not be available for the step up program. The only 1080 Ti that will be in the step up program will be the Founders Edition.

My guess is that the SC Black, will have a reference board since it will not have all the ICX tech. But the SC2 won't since it has all the ICX tech and most likely that means not a completely reference board.

Does anyone know if the ICX line has no fan spin during idle like some of the other custom cooling cards do?
I have a 0db idle build and want to get a card that's silent during idle

I'm hoping the FTW3 drops soon. I don't want to wait until May for it. I will just go Asus, if that's the case.

I will patiently wait for a 1080 ti Hybrid.  I've had a 980 ti Hybrid since they launched and have been waiting this long to upgrade.  I can wait a little longer.

I find it a little sad that after all the issues with the original 1080 FTW and then the subseqent mishandling of the situation by EVGA that we don't get the option to step up to a FTW3. The icx 1080 was really just to cover up the screw ups from the original acx cooler that EVGA couldn't admit to. Pretty sad. Paid a premium for my FTW and now you are telling me I can't get even close to the same model on a ti. I think this was my EVGA card sadly. Maybe someone else will offer something better.

Since it appears there will be NO KingPin Edition 1080Ti, guess I'll get an FTW3 or SC2 or SC Black Edition.

FTW3 Black Edition would be nice for EVGA to offer.

Can I ask a question please?

Is the FTW3 and SC2 cooler silver or dark gray?

    Medium gray or charcoal gray?

Silver like the ACX 1080 or dark gray like the 980 KingPin cooler?

    Thank you.

Huh?  The step-up program has never allowed people to upgrade to the FTW edition (well there might be some odd exception I don't know about).  It's always been a step up to the base model either reference stock blower cooler or the current base model ACX (or now going forward iCX).  Every once in awhile, there is a limited chance to upgrade to the SC instead of base model.   For instance, I was able to step up from a 1070 FTW to only the 1080 ACX.  Some people with 980 Ti were given the opportunity to step up to the 1080 SC, but the vast majority was just the base model ACX.

The whole iCX thing was not a true step-up, it was just a replacement program for your existing card to the equivalent iCX variant.
