Why on Classy K when I installed Firmware 2.01 boot pauses on "B4" which says Memory Training.  I do not see this with BIOS 1.04.  Also, there are some different Choices from the 1.04 in the 2.01 UEFI setup.  Is this only because I should only be using the 1.04 with a I7-6700 rather than a I7-7xxx series CPU?

All BIOS's should support older chips fine.
What is your memory config, and are you clocking CPU/RAM/Both, and if so please provide specifics.  I see the RAM in the sig, I assume that is it, are you running 1 or 2 kits?  How long does it pause, and does it unstick itself and boot?  Once in windows, does everything work normally, memory detected, any anomalies?

Tech_DaveB, The answer is B4. I would say it pauses 15 seconds.  As stated there are different choices [I remember 2 or 3 ] presented with the 2.01 than with the 1.04.  Also during several re-installs of 2.01 I got Checksum errors and Pressed continue -- all apps seem to work.  I was scared of this DIOS update so Should no longer matter now, as I worked very hard and finally got both sides of the bios running 1.04 with out the check sum and without the pauses.   So, at least for me running 104 will be what my PC will run.  For what ever reason my system does not like the 2.01 I would add that my profile should show more drives; a Samsung 850 pro- 250 GB, and a WD 1500 GB hdd.  Thanks for the reply, but as above, I am sticking with the 1.04.

PS.  sorry I guess I just misread my profile.. It is correct.

Did you reset the Bios to the Default or Optimized Settings before you updated it?

Yes, I did.  Every thing I did had 1 or more issues.  It's not like I haven't do a bunch of BIOS updates over the years.  I do appreciate the input.  I could mess / slip up on a procedure, but I try to read the instructions every time before doing the update just to be sure no changes in EVGA's procedure.
    Ken.
I do not plan on changing CPU's at this time so the 1.04 will have to do.

Are you using an XMP Profile for your Memory or setting it manually?

Yes XMP 1 which seems to be the same as the markings on the side of the memory sticks

I went back to BIOS 1.4.  Then made sure the VCCIO was at spec or just above [say 1 or 3 hundreds of a volt.  Then made sure the timing were correct.  I do not OC at all. No more B4 pausing.

You should open a Support Ticket so that EVGA can correct this Bios.
