nVidia free Anthem/BFV that comes with 2070/2080 RTX cards. Is the card a MUST?

Howdy.
 
I guess these are two of the games offered for some of the purchases with either a 2070 or 2080 where they give you a game. 
 
The requirement seems to require you to go through the nVidia experience, explanation HERE.
 
 These codes are on ebay for cheaper, and I'm just wondering if you actually have to have one of these cards?  Have any of you guys redeemed one of these codes without actually having the card that is supposedly required?

    The requirement says that one of the cards has got to be installed to redeem the actual Nvidia code. Buying from EBay is iffy as Nvidia, nor any partner company/reseller, will not back you if the code is bad for any reason. It is 100% explicitly against the terms of service to sell the game codes received from the promotion.

    It failed on my GTX Rig but worked on my RTX Rig

    I would like to know that as well. I'm looking forward to get a new card in the next weeks so maybe I can test and see if I can claim the games on another system, but I'm guessing nVidia Experience will have to be actively using the driver that corresponds to one of the card mentioned in this deal. At least on key activation.

    The answer is posted all over. The RTX
    Card is required when redeeming through GFE. Required. Not another card.

    GFE will recognize and tell you which card/cards are installed. If a “qualifying” RTX card is not installed, the redemption process will fail.

    i had to go through the nVidia experience to get the game with my card, i uninstalled it after words though. the codes end up sending you over to Origin in the end though

    Yeah, I only use GFE to download the games and then remove it as well. Usually I start with my new card in a backup system with GFE, redeem the codes, remove GFE from the system and then move the card to a more permanent system.

    Once the codes are loaded to the game hosting software (origin, uplay, steam, etc) everything is good to go.
