During initial boot, I've found it doesn't find the waterblock when I log in. Program closes, and I wait 3-4 seconds and run it and it starts up without any real issues, (it's not showing the temps immediately, but otherwise fine). It's just on start-up that I get the message that it couldn't find the waterblock, but there's a few things happening at the same time, so I assume it's just polling hardware at the same time as windows is.

Still, it does seem a bit weak given it's been installed since Friday and after 2 days it started having issues.

Ironically, it isn't even set up to start-up with Windows, but that's not the first time a program has done that when it clearly isn't in settings for it. More ironically, it isn't even in my Startup list on windows. I assume it runs at startup because I had check for updates daily on. It's on weekly now, so I'll see if it starts up tomorrow I guess.

I have an ASUS Code X with the CLC 280 and get the same issue as @xTermon. I get the CPUWB error, Device Not Found message, but if I click on the flowcontrol app again, it loads without any issues - it only happens when loading Windows. I wasted 2 months with EVGA support and the 'engineers' told me it's an issue with my motherboard. I replaced the motherboard - and guess what - issue persisted. I replaced the usb cable from the 280 CLC - issue persisted.
I guess EVGA just made a buggy software and does not know how to fix this issue. What I like about EVGA is that you can monitor by the coolant temperature, which avoids the "acceleration" of the fans all the time when your CPU is under load. I prefer to set my own custom temperature curves but based on the coolant not cpu.

After I posted my comment here, I was just doing some more tests like disabling the power savings from all USB HUBs on Device manager on Windows 10, disabling all possible power management options on USB. Did the same on the BIOS. Nothing helped - but then I figured it out -
If you are getting the CPUWB error, Device Not Found message only when you load Windows (meaning that if you double click on flowcontrol after the error message and it will load) - to make this annoyance go away, press Windows key then R - then type shell:startup, this will open the startup folder - copy the flowcontrol app there - it worked.
Now Windows 10 successfully loads the flowcontrol in the right order and it does not show the error message anymore.
The way it was before, I would start flowcontrol manually - then use the computer for gaming, after the gaming session I would shutdown normally - next day I would start Windows and that annoyance would happen,  CPUWB error, Device Not Found, then I would double click on the flow control icon and load it then start my gaming session. After I explicitly added the flowcontrol to the startup folder on Windows 10, the problem was magically fixed.
Thank you for nothing EVGA support tech!

I have to ask did you open a Service Ticket the Official Tech Support for EVGA?
This is still a Member to Member Forum that sometimes EVGA Techs review but do not work from.

Yes, EVGA Support Email 780716
In order to open a official support tech ticket, you have to register your product, then you are able to explain the issue. But after months of emails, new cable sent from evga, nothing did the trick until the eureka moment yesterday! I’m not mad at evga, don’t get me wrong, I’m just happy that I fixed my problem.

Lets hope EVGA reviews your Post above https://forums.evga.com/FindPost/2954184 but it not helpful with the last line.
We work with EVGA at least this is the best thing to do IMO than throw insults at them. We Learn from Each Other here on the Forum.
