is there different versions or something? or is 1.3 and 1.5mm close enough that the directions could say both? I was going to upload a picture of my instruction manual that came with mine but my phone takes to big of pictures so it wont let me attach it

someone else on reddit said this " Allen key is a 1.3mm if I'm not mistaken and the actual screw requires a 1.5mm Allen key. It's not big deal if you have a extra Allen key laying about. I installed it fine with a 1070 SC Did anybody else get the incorrect Allen key with this?" so maybe they changed to 1.5mm part way threw and the online manual just still lists 1.3mm?

I have seen mention of both sizes so I'll ask EVGA to clarify.

Actual measurements of the Allen wrench that came with my powerlink 1.47mm actual ---> (1.5mm nominal) - used Mitutoyo 150mm dial caliper 0.058 inch - used Starrett 6 inch dial caliper looks like manual could be a typo

Interesting... might have been a translation issue or something.

Why do you need the tool to remove it? I thought the tool was just to get the spacing right. I pulled mine right off last night when installing the hybrid cooler and plugged it right back in when I was done. Didn't even bother looking for that allen wrench.

maybe the op need to change what type of connectors are on it or changed from a fe to aftermarket card the spacing at the end could be different

The correct size is 1.3mm. I have measured this myself against a kit of allen bits and the 1.5mm bit was slightly too big, but the 1.3mm bit fit the bolt on the powerlink perfectly.

The manual we have in the office does indeed say 1.3mm. Can you please send in a photo of your manual showing 1.5mm to Support@EVGA.com so we can forward this to our product team?

I also checked this trying both US & metric sized hex wrench sets I have - and the 1.3mm fits nicely.

yeah, 1.3mm is a common a SAE size for the powerlink (.05). May not be smart to buy a single when you can just get a kit on amazon or something. like "Stanley 85-753", 8.99 and you'll have both metric and standard.

I have received some info that there might be some kits with a 1.5mm as well as the 1.3mm so I am waiting for further responses.
