just built the new system (bought the gpu last year when it was on sale) everything was working fine untill i updated to the latest nvidia drivers 441.66 and since then any game i try to load that wont start up in dx12 just refuses to load or will load and i will just get flickering textures/black white boxes flashing all over the screen is there anything i can do about this? or is the gpu faulty

Edit currently using nvidia driver 388.13 since thats the only thing that will seem to get games to boot without issue

Seems that it might be a problematic driver from NVIDIA.

Grab an older/previous driver from NVIDIA Downloads..Then use DDU in Safe Mode to remove 441.66 and all the optional driver components and restart your PC..Then disconnect from the internet..Then install the older/previous driver..Roll from there.

Sounds like you need to file a bug report with nvidia... https://surveys.nvidia.com/index.jsp?pi=6e7ea6bb4a02641fa8f07694a40f8ac6

Run DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller) and Reinstall drivers. Should fix that issue. I'm using the latest, and have no problems gaming in DX12 or DX11 with Two 1080 Ti SC Black Edition cards.

It's unusual but it can happen. Most folks do not know that Nvidia can change memory timings in the driver that can affect the operation of games. If you down clock your GPU memory by 200 mhz, does that resolve or lesson the issue? If so, that is more of a confirmation it is the GPU versus a driver or other system issue.
