Let's preface this with, I have an Intel i9-7900X. And why I didn't build a Ryzen system is simply personal bias.

That said.

When Ryzen initially launched, there was some negative criticisms of its gaming performance and AMD countered with claims of gaming optimizations that could be done. Afterwards, a few games did indeed get patched and performance increased.

So, I wonder... could the same hold true for Intel's Skylake-X CPUs? Could there be optimizations that could be squeezed out of games for them? I know that from SL to SL-X, there's the "mesh" and cache changes. Beyond that, I don't know the details. But even for just those two, which I think some reviews are blaming for performance loss compared to previous generation Intel CPUs. If they are indeed, can coding be adjusted to work better with or make up for those changes?
