GOOD DAY!
Newbie here! I just bend the LGA 1151 for forcing to close the lock when my cpu is not on a right position. Then i turn it back to the right placement, my pc will just turn on and off.
Question are, will the bended and damage pins can damage the cpu?( i know, for sure my mobo is damage)
Should i repair my mobo (replace the socket to a new one) or buy both new cpu mobo?
Last, will it damage my other components?
My mobo is gigabyte z370xp
Cpu i7 8700k

TIA!

    Bummer
Bent CPU Socket Pins are Not Covered under Warranty. Also you cannot replace a Motherboard CPU Socket.
The CPU could be Dead, but you can still test it in your New Motherboard.
I went through this as well and I killed my Ram as Well or at lest one Stick of a kit but Corsair replaced the Kit without issue.

Get a magnifying glass and a needle and start straighting out pins.

That's what I've done when i did the same thing.  I mean it's not a warranty thing so you have nothing to loose.  Best of luck with it.

count me in. had a brand new board stored for 2 years it survived three moves and just last week i bought a chip off craigslist and literally dropped it sideways on the motherboard pins and destroyed it. felt like homer simpson

I had the same problem when i was building an intel PC. I really thought that i put the cpu the right way and boom it screwed. I gave up and returned what i could and later build an amd PC instead. The pins are on the cpu instead of the mobo and i found it easier.
