So, I got this card a while ago and was blown away with its performance and even more performance when i built another rig but kept the GPU. Now Prices have come way way down and I wanted (for fun) to add another card. I already added a prior nvidia series card for dedicated physx processing and was kind of impressed with the numbers but I wanted to go SLI. I have limited time on SLI rigs. I built one for Battlefield2 A very special build as a new buss was out. The dreded AGP buss had migrated to the newer PCI X buss (AMD Sandi on EPOX MoBo and 2 PCI X GTX 6800 Nvidia GPUs in SLI) Built for BF2 - it ran ran the game flawlessly at max settings  Few builds later I built another SLI rig with the GTX 460 1024 signature cards. But this is where i started running into trouble. I thought the cards were identical but one had a different BIOS. Needless to say, it worked and didnt work and worked and....
My latest and current build I focused on storage and SSD performance running M.2 x2 raid boot and 2 SSD raid storage with evga geforce gtx 970 04G-P4-2974-B6 single.
Now I want to  have some fun and grab a second identical card to run in SLI. I have read that stuff has changed and they do n ot have to be super exact but.... can anyone help me select a card that will perform well with my evga geforce gtx 970 04G-P4-2974-B6? the one problem I am having is that I can not find this exact card no matter where I look. Its this manufacturing sequence and the "b6"  ANy help would be apreciated. I am also interested in water blocks for the 970. I have a water block for a titan X that is useless to me but I know it will fit another card other than the titan x

There are some links below that should help you..The one about GTX 970 and SLI functionality in the EVGA FAQs is probably the most important one as it lists the different 970's that can SLI, according to EVGA.

It's also sometimes possible to get mismatched cards working in SLI using the Different SLI [AUTO] tool.

The suffix of the card part number (B6, BR, KR, etc.) is just the warranty designation and will vary in different world regions.

If you happen to find another EVGA GTX 970 on the market check with EVGA technical support before buying it to make sure it will SLI with your existing card

AMD Ryzen 9 7950X,  Corsair Mp700 Pro M.2, 64GB Corsair Dominator Titanium DDR5  X670E Steel Legend, MSI RTX 4090 Associate Code: H5U80QBH6BH0AXF. I am NOT an employee of EVGA

A B6 card and a KR would share the same vBIOS compatibility.

best follow that evga sli 970 card list posted above    on the model #  kr br don't matter thats the suffix that states if is first quality / new card or referb or recertified  , ect....   04G-P4-2974-''KR'' = new with full 3 year P/N: 04G-P4-2974-''RX''  b-stock 1 year  for example    look in the warrantee page and it will show what each means

now if I recall I thought I seen guys with them odd ball evga 970's  that don't just sli with anything did not even sli with another brand card well if at all and I think it ended up may of had to use that different SLI software  as posted above to make them ??

not 100% on that its been so long now.  , but maybe one of them better safe then sorry if it don't things and your out ?

that B6 as yours  I don't guess I ever seen before unless it a non USA card ?

this part of the cards SN # is what to match ''04G-P4-2974 ''   as like the evga guy said in his way
