Hi I emailed Noctua and asked which is the best fan and they emailed me back to say
“Dear
thanks for contacting Noctua and for your interest in our products.
As far as we know EVGA includes two types of backplate, one to allow standard LGA1366 coolers to be installed and another one that allows installation of Xeon 5500/5600 coolers.
Thus all of our coolers, except the DO-series products, can be used on this mainboard.
Our highest performing model is the NH-D14 but due to its weight we are not sure if we should recommend this cooler for this mainboard.
Attached you'll find a picture which outlines the NH-D14 on this mainboard.
Considering the weight of the cooler the better choice would probably be the NH-U12P SE2 though.”
So I want to know what’s the best cpu cooler EVGA Classified SR-2 so what other cpu coolers are their??????? PS I don’t want to do water cooling.

Use two Cooler Master V6 GT heat sinks.  The V6 GT performs as well as the Noctua NH-D14 under very heavy loads with 120mm x 38mm fans.  Keep in mind you need fans with high pressure and CFM for this heat sink, due to the very dense fin configuration (55 aluminum fins, each is 0.6mm thick).

But using 38mm fans might cause for some clearance issues.  Either way it comes with two 120mm x 25mm fluid dynamic bearing 93.74 CFM fans so I think you'll be fine.

The Noctua NH-U12P is good, but for heavier loads the V6 GT is much better.  The NH-U12P has less fins and a much smaller fin surface area, along with two less heat pipes and a slightly worse heat pipe configuration.  This means that less heat can be transfered and less heat can be dissipated with the NH-U12P.

This also means that the NH-U12P will be more effective with low noise fans since air can pass through the fins easier, since there are less fins there is more space between them.

Oh I see know thanks for explaining it boredgunner so if I want a low load Noctua NH-U12P and if I want high load I would go for V6 GT ok I understand know thank V6 GT is is better design then but say v6 gt is at low load will it still be good?
Ps what is the fastest overclock with Intel Xeon Six Core (X5680) 3.33GHz Processo??????????

Yeah the V6 GT will still do very good at low loads, especially since it comes with two PWM fans.  As for that CPU, I'm unsure how well you'll be able to overclock on air but people can get it past 4 GHz without too much trouble.  That CPU is what is used for all the top benchmarks, usually being pushed past 5 GHz but on extreme cooling.

oh I see if I want to overclock the cpu the Intel Xeon Six Core (X5680) 3.33GHz can you tell me how to do it??? I don’t have the Intel Xeon Six Core (X5680) 3.33GHz but I am saving up for it:)
Also can the v6 gt do 5 GHz on  Intel Xeon Six Core (X5680) 3.33GHz?????
If so can I you tell me how as I have never overclocked before can you tell me step by step on how to do it when I get the cpu?

Here is a very good overclocking guide for these CPUs.

http://forums.evga.com/tm.aspx?m=7528

The V6 GT will not handle 5 GHz on an X5680.  That would be way too much heat for any air cooling setup.  4 GHz should be possible.

If I where you proceed with caution, overclocking is not for the faint hearted especially as your spending a lot for the cpu. Some people play around with older type systems first and learn the basic fundamentals or get someone who know's what they are doing to overclocker for you, good luck...

It looks so compacted to overclocking  a cpu compare to overclocking a graphics card........ I think I will not overclock it as its so hard to do with  graphics card it comes with gui to help you overclock but with the cpu its just mind blowing to me ow well

Re:best cpu coolers for EVGA Classified SR-2????????? 2010/08/02 11:07:12 (permalink)
The V6 GT will be better for higher loads (more heat) when paired with more powerful fans.  The Megahalems is better with quiet fans because it has less fins and more space between the fins, as well as a gap in the center splitting the two fin arrays allowing air to pass through more easily.  The heat pipe configuration is also designed to let air pass through the cooler more easily so you won't need more powerful fans.

The Cooler Master V6 and V6 GT feature more fins that are thicker I believe, and a larger fin surface area overall.  The heat pipes are also in a V configuration which exposes each one to incoming air from the fans, and utilizes more fin space for faster heat dissipation.  The downside is that it is harder for air to pass through the heat sink with the fins and heat pipes like this, so more powerful fans will be necessary.

If you plan on going for very high overclocks, go for the V6 GT which also happens to look more awesome with its LED strip (can be changed from red to blue or purple, or turned off by pressing the Cooler Master logo on it).  The V6 GT also has a better fan mounting system but does not support 38mm fans by default, but you probably won't be able to fit such fans anyway.  If you want a more quiet computer and perhaps less or no overclocking, go with the Megahalems.  Both have a very similar mounting system and base surface finish by the way.

Just throwing this out there, running dual Cogage TRUE spirit's, 35$ a piece, added a second fan, at 3.9 GHz they keep my 5530's in the mid 60's at full load with raised voltages

Just tossing that one out
