I have an evga 1080 gtx FE and I really hate it.  Temps reach 82c even with a custom fan profile so I want to use aftermarket cooling, preferably air.  Is there anyone who has modified their 1080 gtx FE for better cooling?  I really regret buying this trash card but it was the only 1080 gtx available at the time and the stock cooler is incapable of cooling it adequately, causing the card to throttle at 83c.   Cant even use step up for my card so I guess im stuck with it.

The maximum temperature I've seen on my card is 55c since I've installed the Hybrid cooler, before it was over 80c.

No, but you need to keep the stock parts in case it needs to go back. (if EVGA)

Also your PC case needs great airflow to help cool the card.

Pascal does not "tune" well with more power.  If you can not keep it cool enough more power will just make maters worse.

Custom fan profile = what setting did you use ?

I have it at 95% fan when it reaches 80c but it still sucks.  I have a corsair 780t case, so airflow should not be a problem.  In the end, the FE is a trash card and I can't believe that I have to spend another $100 on a water cooler just to keep it cool.  Shame on NVIDIA for making such a useless cooler.
