Hi !
I've just checked the cpu support list about the entire Evga Z490 lineup and sad to notice that the i9-10850K isn't mentioned... Does it mean that installing it won't work on any Evga Z490 mainboard ?

It should work as it is just a 10900k with 100mhz clock speed.

Yeah indeed but it might be not recognized since Evga support hasn't released the updated Agesa cpu microcode yet... it's not always a problem of frequency...

Likely only reason not listed is because the 10850k didn't release until evga had already made that list..

It says in BIOS 1.05 notes that it adds support to 10850k CPU.  First BIOS for Dark is 1.06 so would already include support I would imagine since it was not released at the time 1.05 was released.

    BIOS 1.05 Updates

    • Adds support for Intel Core i9-10850K
    • Updates ME Firmware to 14.0.39.1139

Actually 1.04 I believe was the earliest, I upgraded from that to 1.08 on mine.

Novice here!  So I was going to buy the the 10850 for the ftw. Will it boot with the current bios with the 10850 before bios update or does it have to be flashed before I install it.

I bought Dark KP edition on the 4th of Dec and it had 1.04 bios on it which is not even available for download lol, so you will probably have to update via the USB method first.

How can I check BIOS version and can I update BIOS without CPU and monitor? Or can monitor be connected without CPU?

Never mind. For those that want to know - it can be updated, the procedure is described on page 147 of the z490 Dark manual.
