I received my Z390FTW yesterday and most everything went smooth as usual until I went to hook up the front panel connectors.  There isn't enough clearance to plug them in, I was able to remove the MB and connect them and reinstall the MB.  So just a heads up, plug them in first, lol.

I like the new BIOS and was able to easily get my 8700K to 5.0 without issue.

I do not really see this as an issue on EVGA's part but your own part with the Case you wanted to use.
Your solution was simple as you pointed out above to plug them in Before you install the Motherboard into the Case.
But, you should always lay a Motherboard in the Case to review the layout and options before you mount it to the case.

90 Degree Angle's would work well here or a Right Angled one.

Or this type Connector Power/Reset SW Power/HDD LED 10-Pin Internal Motherboard Cable
This way you can connect and disconnect them without removing the Motherboard.

But this would be an issue for All of the Lower Connectors on this Motherboard not only the Front Panel Connections

I really like the way EVGA has changed this, it works great for all my cases.

No need to defend anyone here, not complaining just giving a heads up.  I like the new connectors and this motherboard.

While not ideal & I understand the frustration factor ... glad you found a way to make it work

I've had issues with USB ports & clearance before on a full sized Phanteks Primo case .... just  had to get the small adapter cable

90 degree mounts can help make it easier to "cleanup wiring" they can also induce some pain sometimes, depending on case used

My current build with Thermotake X9 case looks like there may be a few challenges with the 90 orientation ..... and side clearance (~ 23mm) as the case includes some massive cables with large molded ends (USB cable "molded end" ~33mm before the cables are exposed ) for the front USB ports ... not likely to bend 90 degrees in the space that exists ... just leaves room to get creative, or I'll just skip using case front USB

I know, not taking your post that way at all.
I almost got that case but without that bottom PSU Cover not being removable it was taken off my list.
It is Still a Nice Case.

They fixed this with the Evolv X. The cutouts are positioned better.

I also read they fixed the airflow,  I want to build a dual machine withing a few months and I'm looking around for a good case., the Evolv X keeps popping up in my searches.

It's all good, I though about removing the shroud and cutting a hole in it but I just don't have the time at the moment.
