weird, the A6 code seems to be "A6 - SCSI Detect"....

do you have a SCSI card?

Is everything at stock speeds? (note, I'm not saying you're doing anything bad/stupid, etc..just trying to think of things)...

    Have you reset the CMOS?

A6 may be referring to a storage device so I would begin by removing the M.2 SSD and any other storage drives attached to the board.

Yes cmos was reset first thing i did. it did not work. Hope  some one else has some ideas but looks like I need to drain loop and try  to isolate problem. 5.2 ghz when crashed in Port royal Had just run cini bench at 5.2 ghz temps in low 70's and score of 2289 ran at same setting and crashed in Port Royal and thats it.

I would try another PSU if you have one, tho I'm reluctant to believe you'd get anything at all if the PSU was  bad.

Then I would take everything out of the slots and see if you get the error beep for no vid or memory...put in the memory and see if you get the beep for vid card...then put the vid card in...and see if you get video or beeps or hanging...

I know you have a loop and this is arduous but .... I can't think of anything else.

Well, that's the last thing then I'd think the motherboard had an issue...

At some point reinstall windows before RMA or don't. I'd like to RMA mine if I could get the chance.

A6 likely just means that the board is waiting for input from you post POST to proceed. Usually it is shown when you are on the Checksum error screen and the BIOS has been cleared.
All new BIOSes show Checksum error by default. It sounds more likely that the card is not displaying at POST (it may have failed in Port Royal).
If you press F1, the board may change over to showing CPU temps on the POST Code screen.
I would recommend draining the loop and doing more testing.

Just got a cheap Z390 mother board rog Strix Z390 - E- gaming did not put in case set up as test bench with the I9- 9900-k and it fired right up no probems. Now I have to decide on another Z390 high end board. Z390 dark is dehttps://www.3dmark.com/fs/19133438ad not the cpu. this I9-9900 k is stable most the time at 5.2 ghz and will run at 5.3 ghz on a lot of benchmark it will not run at 5.4 ghz.

Evga ok the RMA after I tested I9 9900 k and worked fine in another board I told them I did not want another   Z390 dark and just send Bios chip and ill put that in and see if that fix it. I do like the Bios setting for the Z390 Dark, but have had Bios problems off and on and this one I could not fix . I hope it was just this board. Z390 is a great overclocking board. I did order a Asus maxmius xi apex, the boards our close to the same. Will see how the Apex does and hope the Bios chip fix Z390 Dark. I like Evga Bios setting over Asus.

If I get it to work and keep working which ever board preforms the best will be my daily and the other will be a test bench.
