seta8967 I like how they went back to the black nickel cpu retention mechanism, and a single latch RAM. hmm might sell my x99 classy for the updated version... also is that a led strip separating the board and sound?
Same color is on mine EVGA Z77 FTW. OK I have nothing against silver but this color is better. Guys I think it's much more important question where someone to push Sound Blaster Z or Xonar than 4th PCI-E slot for multi GPU. My opinion is that board of this size is fantastic if support SLI and Sound Card, M.2, USB 3.1. Nothing else. For others is more interesting E-ATX form factor.

EVGA is giving finishing touches to the X99 Micro2, is latest socket LGA2011v3 motherboard, in the micro-ATX form-factor. The board is characterized by support for two USB 3.1 ports, including a type-C port. Most of the feature-set from the original X99 Micro, is carried over. This includes a 10-phase CPU VRM, three PCI-Express 3.0 x16 slots (full-time x16/x16/x8), a 32 Gb/s M.2 slot, with NVMe BIOS support, making up its expansion area. The board supports up to 64 GB of quad-channel DDR4 memory. Storage connectivity on the X99 Micro2 includes ten SATA 6 Gb/s ports, apart from the 32 Gb/s M.2 slot. Other modern connectivity includes two USB 3.1 ports (at least one of which is type-C), six USB 3.0 ports (four on the rear panel, two by header), 8-channel HD audio with ground-layer isolation, and a headphones amp; and gigabit Ethernet. EVGA didn't announce pricing or availability. http://www.techpowerup.com/213613/evga-readies-x99-micro2-lga2011v3-motherboard.html Ok, so x16 / x16 / x8 with 40-lane CPUs like I hoped. But the board can't do that and run 3.0 x4 on the M.2 at the same time, those lanes are shared withe one of the PCIe slots so the question is which one? New X99 BIOS's tomorrow, adds 16GB DIMM support, which means up to 128GB of Memory  https://twitter.com/EVGA_JacobF/status/611714808702840832 Or 64GB for the mATX here :D

She will probably have better optimization with bigger memory kits, black gun metal lock mechanism for CPU, USB 3.1 Ports on back, M.2 NVMe Support. People will not need to pay 50-110e for USB 3.1 Port card depend of country and town, to occupy only little port with something what should be on back side.

I would say very similar to the revision of the Micro like the single slot latches on the RAM would be one of the big changes other than USB 3.1, M.2 NVMe and w/e else cosmetically.
There should be a BIOS update for the X99 series to handle up to 128 GB of RAM.

They were referring to the X99 Micro and not the X99 Classified as we were referring to prior. You even brought up the supposed date but got mixed up with another board. Lets all stick to the threads title as some members in this section have a tendency to go off topic about something else and that gets everyone mixed up. If you guys wanna talk about the supposed next revised x99 Classified, lets start a whole new thread.

One guy build very nice RIG with X99 Micro and Obsidian 350D. I send him message because this picture to ask him something about graphic card speed but he didn't answer me still. When I saw picture I start to read little more but later he explain that he remove Sound Card and leave onboard. That's what I afraid....probably because speed of graphic card. But maybe graphic worked on x16 and maybe is something else reason why he removed sound card... That's why such motherboard need always one little slot for sound card and.

Why purchase a sound card with it already has a premium sound engine built-in? I think its ridiculous.

Yes but if someone have good sound card, many people used on nice sound. Example I love my Sound Blaster Z. I bought that in time when I need Sound Card because Realtek. For my Z77 FTW and similar motherboard aftermarket sound card is welcomed. I can't explain difference. If developers design game nice, you clearly hear every difference, wood, metal, grass, you nicely hear drop of water. And it's much better for movies off course. I thought on this slot... I have same on Z77 FTW... Some manufacturer install and two of them, but one is enough...

Unfortunately every board isn't going to be custom made for each person but they will do as best they can to one size fits all design.
Lets stick on topic on the X99 Micro board and not compare them to the bigger sizes.
Again, the audio chip on the X99 Micro like the rest of them has a Sound Blaster Quad-core Engine if I recall correctly. Basically almost all MB manufacturers come with this as a standard. I think people are stuck in their past times where you had to purchase a sound card for premium sound. Well, you don't have to anymore and folks need to move on. If you still want a sound card, by all means have at it but don't complain. lol! Also, you don't need a PCI-E x4 as the x16 also is backwards compatible.

I believe that sound chip on X99 Micro is competitive with other boards. It's OK people could choose, if someone want new features USB 3.1 can go on Micro 2. If someone want 2 graphic cards, good Sound Card, M.2 could go on Classified. Even EVGA X99 FTW I think support M.2 with some PCI-E M.2 x4 adapters. I have feeling that new Classified will be one reliable motherboard. Importance is and durability. More people want to keep boards 3-4 years and use 32-64GB slover DDR4, example 2666MHz. EVGA boards in most case when everything work on beginning stay reliable several years. I'm glad because people start to interest again for EVGA boards, at least X99 and Z87/Z97 series are better than Z77/X79. That's most important. If someone see pictures of new Classified should post immediately. OK she will look probably same, but some difference will be visible.

X99 doesn't support onboard video so you'll need some kind of video card.

Vlada, your point and translation has struck a dead end once again with all due respect. You always jump from one thing to another and are all over the place. We're talking about the X99 Micro board with its features and 3rd party sound cards while the Micro has its own built in sound since you brought this discussion in that direction. Now you're talking about other MBs with their own features which is irrelevant since the main focus is of this titled thread. Again, please stop going off topic as you're very notorious of doing so on other threads and if you can't understand the thread, than just read and listen. Thanks

EVGA will probably to add same EMI shield and for X99 Classified, she have "fantastic" quad core audio processor as reviews say. For USB Ports... I think it's better 4x USB 3.0, 1-2 USB 3.1 and rest USB 2.0. Than 10-12 USB 3.0 Ports and no USB 3.1... For what 10 USB 3.0 Ports... You need for flash drive, 1-2 external HDDs or something else and that's it. Cams, DVD-RW, mouse, keyboard, and most of other devices work on USB 2.0.

I'm interested in SLI configuration, and if anything has changed compared to X99 Micro v1. In v1, the PCIe slots are specified as in this order: Slot 1 (x16), Slot 2 (x16), Slot 3 (x8). I'd like to run 2-way SLI with a pair of GTX 980 TI. But, due to clearances between cards, I'd ideally like to use Slots 1 and 3 in this configuration. First, not knowing the adverse effects of mixing lane sizes, I have not yet attempted this configuration on the v1 board. Any advice on that would be appreciated. But, staying on topic, will the x99 Micro v2 feature any changes on the distribution of lanes to the PCIe slots? And if not, will that prevent SLI using Slots 1 and 3 (leaving slot 2 empty)?

According to TechPowerUp the v2 keeps the same x16 / x16 / x8 lane configuration with the 40-lane CPUs as the v1. The main question is what effect the M.2 has on that. I used slot 1 and slot 3 with the v1 and dual 980s and it worked just fine:
