Hello,
I need help!!

Currently when I start my computer I get the message that it's not possible to boot from the media (that's right because the boot option shows only the normal harddisk (without OS).
If I press any key, the system starts from SSD
My problem is, that I didn't find my SSD in boot options but under SATA configuration.
What can / should I do? Target should be, that I can start directly from SSD
Many thanks in advance!

Does your boot configuration list an option called UEFI? If so your SSD might be this.

AMD Ryzen 9 7950X,  Corsair Mp700 Pro M.2, 64GB Corsair Dominator Titanium DDR5  X670E Steel Legend, MSI RTX 4090 Associate Code: H5U80QBH6BH0AXF. I am NOT an employee of EVGA

When you installed, did you also format the ssd to match the setup initially?

Hello tjohnson11,
If I understand the Bios description right (see part below) - there are only more requirements when you like to use UEFI.
I use WIN7 64Bit - and like to use bitlocket (this is my second problem - that I get the message that no TPM-Chip is in place)
Legacy/UEFI
This allows you to select your boot mode, which will dictate which OS's and features you
can run. Keep in mind that UEFI does have more requirements for attached hardware
and partition types than Legacy does. Make sure everything in your system supports
UEFI before making that selection.
Default: Legacy
I use at the moment the default "Legacy"

I installed the system on a 120GB SSD. Little later I get a 480GB SSD and clone the first one (120GB) to the new one. I'm not shure - but I think, that I don't format the SSD (480GB) disk before I use it.
Could this be the problem? Do I have a chance to do this setup afterwards with the clonded OS and all programs?

Formatting erases everything, so if you don't have the old drive with all of the current programs, you won't be doing that.

Should I switch the boot configuration to UEFI - could this be help or is it to dangerous?
Formatting is no option for me

You should be setup to Legacy with the OS SSD you want to boot from at the #1 or top priority list.

Give us a screenshot of your BIOS settings under the boot section.  Could clear many things up quick.

Use this Associate Code at your checkouts or follow these instructions for Up to 10% OFF on all your EVGA purchases:

 I had a similar issue.
http://forums.evga.com/Cant-BOOT-from-SSD-with-RAID-enabled-on-red-PCH-ports-m2308121.aspx

Scroll down a little further on your boot screen and look for the this
"" Hard Disk Drive BBS Priorities ""

I will also add, if after you get the drive to boot, and still will not work correctly.
it can be that changing controller types may deem the boot files unusable.
A simple boot in safe mode, or startup repair can fix the issue.
this issue caused by installing Windows in IDE mode, and trying to boot in AHCI mode, and so on...
make sure you install windows using the correct mode which is AHCI for SSD.
UEFI should work, but I believe your drives will need to be GPT not MBR.
Personally I am using Legacy due to RAID config.

Hi mr_scary,
I changed the Port for my SSD from 7 to 1 and do some reboots - and ....... I see the SSD in the boot configuration.
All other things like ACHI works fine.
Thanks a lot - for the support
