First off, I just got this board yesterday,
Everything is installed and working correctly, BIOS is up to date 116 .
I have all 10 SATA ports populated 3 of which are used as HOT SWAP. so they are empty

I want to setup my RAID0 x 4 WD blacks, and 850 PRO SSD on the red sata ports.
However, I cannot boot from the SSD, or find it anywhere in the BIOS.

setting up the RAID works just as it did on my X58, and is successful.
Just no SSD in boot menu.

Thanks for any help.

On What Motherboard FTW or Classified or Micro?
How did you setup CSM and how you are setting up your Boot Manager?
That is are you Legacy Boot or UEFI Boot?

    Sorry about that..

    X99 FTW
    UEFI, and Legacy same issue.
Windows 8.1, but does not get that far. (SSD not in the boot list to choose.)
my old board (X58) I could hit [ESC] and choose what drive to boot from. not working on the (X99)

I'm going to try and read up some more.

It will make a BIG Difference on what you select if you are on Window 8 as to what you want to select for Windows 7

    Ok, thanks.

Just to clarify. The system boots fine and works fine.
SSD benchmarks are on par. Just while RAID is enabled.

I have now moved the SSD to port 0 in hopes I can get RAID working.

I'll post back shortly with my findings.

After switching the SSD to Port (0).
Boot mode select is set to legacy
I had to reboot a few times, and then the SSD is now in the list.

    [[ Boot mode select = LEGACY ]]
    [[ CSM Configuration = Default ]]

Now I will attempt to setup the RAID on the Mechanical Drives..

And is the OS installed on that SSD Drive and will it Boot Up?
I do not think the OS can switch between UEFI and Legacy on the same OS Install.
If I switch mine from UEFI to Legacy Their is no Boot Partition that the Bios can see.
This is what happen in the Bios 1.15 we lost the menu item to allow us to change between UEFI and Legacy.

I think more research is needed here, at least on my part.

    Ok, BRAVO. everything is working...

    My way of saying thanks,
I will register this board with your Affiliate Code..
Thank you sir for your replies.

I had to reboot about 5 or 6 times, and go in and check,
it's as if the BIOS has to learn or something.
each boot would act different, until finally the RAID was recognized and check was OK.
then went back into BIOS and the SSD was in the list.

Of course I had to boot windows in safe mode so the boot manager would work correctly..

I'm formatting the RAID now, and will reboot, and run benchmarks..

    FYI,
this setup runs DayZ maxed out in large city, all settings are as high they will go...
I can't see the actual frame rate for some reason, Precision isnt reporting it.
But it is playing very smooth. I could not believe it...

Yeah, for RAID, it has to be on legacy.  UEFI is usually used if you would have used a M.2 boot drive for example.

I'm very happy with this board,
after getting to the GUI BIOS, all I knew was old blue BIOS.
So far I'm impressed. File transfers are extremely faster then my old X58.

I hav'nt tried to boot with UEFI, as it's working so I may just leave well enough alone,
Or update my BIOS chip 1 and play with it.

    Here's the RAIDx4 Benchmark,
It's quite a bit faster then my X58's ICH10R ports

And here's the Samsung 850 PRO SSD,
I was getting 288 max on the ICH10R.
