BSOD code 7E is typically a corrupted OS file, but not always. You could try doing a fresh graphics driver install. Choose a custom install and only select the graphics & PhysX components. Uncheck everything else not needed. Put a check mark in the "Clean" install box as well. When done, reboot!. Then try things out. Make sure to close PrecX or AB if using either and return GPU settings to defaults while doing the graphics driver install.

Which Slots are you running and at what speed 8x or 16x ? I would run slots 1 and 2 using 16x16 that's how I use to run my X79 SLI when I had 2way SLI running. I've ran slots 1 and 3 before but Didn't like x8x16 how is your bios PCIE channels setup?

slots 1-16x(3.0) and 3-8x(3.0) would love to run at 16x16 in slot 1 and 2 but the cards are to big for that =\ BIOS is set at default made no adjustments

Make absolutely sure the PCI-E SLI bridge cable is seated well. If you have an extra one please try that to see if that is causing it.

that cable is probably bad. I've gone threw a bunch of those flimsy sli bridges. If you have another cable try that.

7E usually means corrupted os files. You should run sfc /scannow & chkdsk /r, check HDD & SSD for errors, try different sata port & sata cable to correct the error.

No problem. Another thing you could try... put your slowest card in the primary slot and fastest card in the 3rd slot.

What do you mean by that they are the same card?

Whichever card boosts lower = primary. Whichever card boosts higher = 3rd slot.

Set PCIE slots to Gen2 I'm pretty sure it's a timing thing. The 680 cards were know to have gen3 issues on the x79 sli. I did with the EVGA 680. Had to run gen2
