I have updated to the latest BIOS (83) and after reading some other forums, rev 12 should support the westmere chips without a mod. Once I put in the x5680 and try to boot up, I get error code FF.
Not sure what else to try.

As i understand it, westmere is supported by rev 1.2 and the rare 2.0. if you have the rev 12 show up, that isnt rev 1.2. rev 13 is. you still have to do the mod to reach rev. 13. My 3x sli shows the same cpu-z yours does except with rev. 13. and a date of 8/25/2011. Had to do my research, I just bought a x5677.

If you're able to boot and it look like you're in windows, in the BIOS go to onboard Devices down bottom of the screen see if P80 is on or off.
Because if it's off it may show Finial Finish code (FF code) rather than the Temperature. This means is just a setting in the BIOS you can change.

so does it go straight FF or can you boot into windows? if straight to FF i would check your ram, the first gen IMC was a bit picky to which slots and how much ram you had along with speed and timings. which slots are you using, what are your ram settings. have you tried clearing cmos

also that rev. 12 does not pertain to your MB, you have a 758 and as far as i know all 758 boards required the hard mod
