It may seem a bit hokee but you could cut a few holes in the sidepanel between the PSU plate and bottom of the GFX card. Then mount a couple small 30mm fans. I cut a hole in my acrylic and added a 120mm fan to cool my ACX 770 Classified's. It made a HUGE difference in temps. Just introducing fresh outside air to that cooler makes a large difference. https://goo.gl/photos/7tX9MCnqRW5GLWAn8

With a 3d printer you could really get creative. Add LED's or a design to the duct. Or even mount a blower style fan in there. It's really up to you.

To be perfectly honest, if it were my rig I would just throw that 1080 under water. :) Great build though! Very clean! Well done!

@alientek
I would also try operating this very same lower placed fan in the front as an exhaust fan.
in this rather small case you get definitely a real hot air jam.
so it could be maybe more useful to get the hot air out of the case instead of pushing more cool air in.
it's worth trying in my opinion.

I did try that to be honest, I could feel heat coming out for sure! but the temps only fell about 2c..
Intake seems way more effective at this point :) but thanks for suggesting!

Alright im finally where i want to be, its very DIY atm but it will look much better once i design one for 3d printing. Check out these temps 74c with 72% fan! also higher boost clock.

I really loved that rig. Just putting the front fans fixed the temps? Congrats on fixing the issue, enjoy!

Looks like it, and the duct to direct the air helps a lot too. But thanks!

Yeah it might be a good idea, but my case is curved and i don't trust myself enough to risk ruining my case xD
As long as it stays under 80c im happy :)

Oh! Yeah, if that acrylic is curved I wouldn't risk it. Mine cracked a bit when installing the fan. It's definitely fragile stuff. Your duct seems to be the best solution outside of going AIO or custom loop. A hybrid kit's radiator would fit nicely on that rear exhaust ;)

I have a Corsair 780T chassis and when running a GTX 1080 FTW while folding (which uses about 100 percent of the GPU) my GPU temp never exceeds 55 degrees.

Sounds like magic.

Well not quite but here is a picture of my temperature while folding.

There you go
What do you sell that custom made print for? :P Good luck hope you can make it prettier in the future, overall PC looks good so.

Edit: Just saw you added a real print I was refering to the cardboard one above. :P Looks nice.

@alientek
Nice solution, good work with 3d printing it as well
However i think that once you have recovered from the hit to get the card you should invest in an AIO, that setup you have would be perfect to have the AIO cooler fan as an exhaust at the back (just above GPU) and then use the radiator from the CPU cooler as a pull at the front of the case.  When gaming generally CPUs do not get that hot, so your radiator at the front will pull air in a cool the air down as the CPU isn't that hot.  Then the AIO will pull that cool air over its radiator and add push it out the back, so you have cool/colder air coming in giving you really nice temps throughout with the heat from the GPU (what really generates the heat during gaming) going straight out with the help of the extra cold air coming into the case.  Would be very efficient elegant solution AND it would mean you could run a silent profile on all your fans so even when playing with GPU at 100% and OC'd everything will be as quiet as when your idling in windows.

Gratz on the card, still waiting on the hybrid myself..

Alright here is the finished product, not too bad for lowering the temps by 12c huh?. Honestly I know the hybrid was the best option, but I was stuck without a GPU for months waiting for this card to come out. The GPU temps are way below the safe temp, so ill keep it like this. But thanks you all for the help! I will consider your opinions in future builds. :)

I have this same case. Post a pic of your set up. I have 2 in and 2 Noctuas out. My Gigabyte G1 980 ti furnace stayed low 70s with a fan curve. That was before I made the exhaust a Noctua and added another one up top.

TC, that fix was brilliant. Looks amazing as well! You just stumbled on something me thinks. I want one. PM me a price :)

Your card is being suffocated. Pretty case, but a very poor decision for a non-blower style fan. Get yourself the Kraken G10 and an H55 and water cool it. Or return it for a blower card.

Edit: Or get a new case.

Definitely get a new case. An HAF X would be a fantastic choice. I currentlly have one but I saw EVGA's DG-87 and will be getting one of those now.

Edit: I didnt read through all of the comments before posting (only the first page). Nice job BTW!

@alientek Amazing Job. I have the same case. Similar problem with an EVGA GTX 1080 Classified. Any chance we could get in contact? I wanted to avoid getting a AIO Cooler.

Sorry I didn't see you where interested! xD my bad, I currently don't have black or white plastic, so you would have to find a local printer service if you are still interested.

Well the last post on this thread before yours was nearly a year ago, so that probably explains the lack of immediate response.

You may be able to send him a private message in hopes that he receives an email notification, though.
