This record was set at my local track.....literally 10 minutes down the road from my house.  I've seen the car make some passes and it is pretty nuts, but I missed this record run.  I love the insane in car pass at night.  One bad Mustang....and that 1.23 second 60 foot time is pretty decent for a car with a clutch and that much power.

I had a '92 GT and still kick myself for selling it.  They are back in a big way with everyone buying them up and turning them into race cars for the drag strip.

Not bad for a Ford!   Nah, I'm just joking around. When your running in the 8's , your in the wicked zone. I personally respect anything that can run 12's and under.

I just got a '91 from my uncle for free last month. It's all tore up but mechanically it runs awesome. I just don't have the money to do anything to it right now.

I bet he's got $20K+ just in the longblock alone!

Did you get a GT or LX? I want to find a '92 notch back with a 4 banger, blown engine, or whatever, so I can strip it down and make a drag car. Only requirement is a straight body.

I'm not sure, I believe it's the LX because it doesn't say GT on the paperwork or anywhere on the body. It is the 5.0 version though.

Yes true, but a T88 on a properly prepared long block is a beautiful thing.  Just listen to that thing, sounds gorgeous.  T88 + 331cu.in seems to do quite nicely.  He shifts that stick pretty robotically, knowing full well if he power shifts with that much power he will sheer all the teeth off the cogs lol.

That was sick. Of course a Fox Body is the lightest mustang that was ever made so that gives it that acceleration advantage of less weight.

kaninja, it is the LX. I ran a carfax on it this morning. Also I forgot to say earlier but it's an Auto. I plan on getting a 6-speed for it when the tranny in it now goes out, but my uncle got it rebuilt at 170k miles and it's at 193 right now, so a waste to just tear it out. I'll just drive it until it dies then get the 6-speed. I will probably have the money to do it by then anyway.

Very nice.  Does it have a trunk or is it the hatch back?  The AOD transmissions on those cars do suck.  Depending on what you want to do with the car you could find a wrecked 5th gen Mustang in a few years and to a complete coyote swap into your Fox body Mustang.  All you need is a modular K member and a harness and the whole thing just drops right in.  Find one with a 6-speed and bam, there you go!

This is similar to what I want to build.

See for yourself :P. Yes I know she is rough there is a reason my uncle gave it to me for free.

    What is wrong with it:
Power locks don't work, along with the window on the drivers side. I have yet to find out why.
Hatch is rusted badly, already got a replacement, it's red but it's all good.
Roof is cracking, this concerns me the most but I'll have to deal with it later.
Interior is well... As you can see...
Windshield is cracked and needs to be replaced.
Cover is missing right under front windshield as you can see.
Needs a new steering wheel, the one on there is disgusting and all tore up.
Needs new rims and an alignment.
Needs a new paint job. (Especially now that I got a red hatch).

With that being said,  that's probably 2k in repairs so it doesn't bother me at all. At least I live where it doesn't rain like. Ever. These pics were taken at my uncles house about an hour after I washed her.

You have a nice starting base, Balto. Saves you the expense of paying for the car.

Yea I had to beg my uncle for 9 months to finally get it from him, it was just sitting under the freeway overpass at his job at LAX. The muffler had a hole in it and it was 450$ in registration fees but he took care of all that, all I did was fix the muffler and get it smogged, which it passed with flying colors thank god, because in Cali, a car that fails smog is a giant paperweight haha.
