My setup is as follows: X58 sli Motherboard Intel i7 930 2x 2gb ocz platinum series 2x XFX nvidia 9800 gt WD velociraptor 750 watt Ultra x4 Modular power supply i have tried using the minimum : 1 stick of ram 1 video card (i have also tried it without the videocard) all i have gotten is postcode 89 "Setup APCI tables".. i looked it up and found that it may be linked to the processor being incompatible but seeing as the 930 is a fairly early model i am stumped at how this could be the case. does anyone know what the problem could be and would be the solution? thanks!

why do you not have triple channel memory instead of dual channel.... this could be your problem?

Shouldn't be his problem, as long as the voltages are correct ( list your memory model, so specs can be looked up, ) the board will work triple or dual, providing they are in the correct slots. Remove the Battery , Power plug, and CPU, inspect the pins and reinsert the CPU, Battery and plug attempt to boot, use the F2 option ( I think it was ) Updates Bios with CPU info, if you get an error, also post back the Bios version you have, it's on a white sticker on your clam shell, See pic for battery and clam shell location.

OOps, thats 1.9V dimms, you need 1.65 or less, If you can get into BIOS you can try changing DIMV to 1.67, and loosing timeing to 10,10,10,24,88 but I wouldn't recomend that unless it is a last resort. S22W should be OK with that chip, you might have to change multaplier from 20 to 21 manualy, SZ15Z updated the microcodes, and your past that, but do address the memory issue.

Not sure what chanel 1 masked interupts are, Remove the battery for 5-10, with the PSU unpluged, and try again, May end up having to call 888-880-EVGA, still suspect it has something to do with memory, 1st channel of three, Try 1 stick in first red slot. ( or green depending on which MB version you have )

E3 Just says something on the 3rd page of the BIOS is off setting, It could be that it was expecting a 920 and found a 930, A f10 may correct that, a F2 should allow you to go past it. Probably was set up for a 20 cpu multaplier, and the chip told BIOS it was 21. Also check that your power and Sata conections are making good contact, and 1st boot device is correct, are you using IDE, AHCI or raid mode ?

Try to reseat your CPU, If your using a after market cooler, make sure you apply even presure to all 4 mounting screws. Don't over tighten. If you have a flashlight and Magnification glass, look at the fingers in the suspected bad slot, and the pins in your socket. You should NOT have to adjust any settings for stock 1066 memory speed, but will have to for 1600.

Try the stick that is failing in a difrent slot, try all sticks in slot 1, you could have a bad stick, or a bad slot, or a bad IMC ( Intagrated Memory controler ) in the CPU, or either the stick or CPU not making good contact, You can try loosing timeing, or incresing DimV but shouldn't have to for stock specs. spec for your memory is 8,8,8,24,88 1T at 1.65, you can try 9,9,9,24.88 and boost Vtt +100, You can also try 2T insted of T1, This affects the # of Memory actions that take place per clock tick, but I doubt tht is your problem. Error 40 is second channel Interupt, I still suspect it's the CPU contact in the socket. But it could be anywhere between the controler on the cpu to the controler on the RAM stick. Note there were some issues with Edelphia controlers on both OCZ and Corsair, and a lot of RAM was RMAed or replaced because of it. I realy do NOT think any BIOS settings are going to affect you at 1060 with a 2:8 and 133.3 clocks, because it was designed to operate at 1066, and should already be set to do so. In BIOS what is Your DIMV set to 1.5 is stock, Try 1.6 for 1066, or 1.65 if your trying to push 1600. I would try to get 1066, working before trying 1600.
