Hi,
I've got a new build just updated to latest Windows 10, and went on to install GPU drivers from NVIDIA. Following which, Ive noticed random lock ups that occur for 3-4secs. Sometimes it occurs when I'm doing something, sometimes when there's nothing open and I'm just moving the mouse about. I'm also having issues opening GeForce Experience, it occasionally opens but I seem to get compatibility issues. I've also tried using windows compatibility troubleshooter, which did not help.

As a note, I did not have any lock ups at all prior to installing the 1070 drivers.

With that said, I'm able to run 3dMark benchmarks with no issues so it does seem like the GPU works fine.

Would be great if anyone can give me some direction in troubleshooting this issue. Thanks in advance!

Here are my specs
Ryzen 2700x
Taichi x470
EVGA Geforce 1070 FTW
2x 16GB Trident Z
1 TB Samsung 860
6 TB Ironwolf
EVGA Supernova 750

Windows 10 Home
Bios v1.5

try installing previous version of driver from evga website. making sure to do clean install of driver. latest driver may have issue with your current setup

Sounds like you need to install older drivers since you said the issue occurred after updating to the latest drivers.

I would also recommend using Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) to uninstall the drivers. This would be the best way to do so :)

Thanks for the replies. Took me ages to do it, but after doing so, the issues are still there, also still only occurs after installing GPU drivers. After using DDU, the lock ups seem to continue. I've just tried a fresh install of windows... again, but doesnt seem to fix it. Reckon it may be a hardware issue?

Just to confirm, all chipset drivers, BIOS, etc for your motherboard, are up to date?
Does this happen with other graphics cards?
You could try changing the "Power Management Mode" In Nvidia Control Panel to show "Prefer maximum performance" to see if this helps. Maybe adjust the Power Plan in Windows to reflect "High Performance" as well to see if this does anything.

Let me know how everything goes!

Yep, sounding like a hardware issue.
