I've got faith in EVGA. They might even throw in a backplate and high flow bracket for free? They did the bracket for the 680 so I don't see why they wouldn't give the 690 similar or better treatment.

Unless you have been included in the NDA between Nvidia and EVGA,

  1. You have no true idea of what they are or are not allowed to do and when.
  2. We also need to understand that EVGA is a Company. Not a friend with a water cooler gossip machine.
  3. EVGA needs to market the way that works for them. Think 80/20 rule. There will always be a few that do not like how they do it regardless of how they do it.
  4. Seems to me EVGA is doing it right. BFG is gone, and XFX no longer deals in Nvidia products. Yet they both have been past competitors to EVGA. That would lead me to think that EVGA has a pretty good idea of what their main body of enthusiast/clients want.

What does this all mean... Unfortunately until EVGA wants to or is allowed to. We all just get to sit back and enjoy the ride.

Personally I would like to see more progress on the Step Ups and Inventory on the 680's. Adding another card is just going to double the amount of frustrations with limited inventories we normally experience during the early stages of a launch...

I DON'T have faith in EVGA. They're always late to the party. Still haven't released the Z77 FTW even, their PSU's are STILL being produced, and other parts have been late with them.

I guess atleast once they do ever release the stuff, usually it's pretty solid hardware.

We ARE talking about a reference card. If anything, I'd expect the backplate and bracket an addon sometime after EVGA releases their card.

That may be the truth, but EVGA decided not to release a Z77 MB w/out the PLX southbridge. And as far as i know, no one else has released a MB w/ PLX southbridge, so they are on par w/ everyone there
