Hello! I'm considering switching my Asus 2080ti Strix "Advanced" for the Evga 2080ti XC hybrid as i had to RMA my asus card but "problem" is that im not sure where to mount it. I have a Fractal Design define r6 case with 6 fans in it. 3: 120mm top. 1: 140mm exhaust 2: 120mm front connected to the CPU AIO. Would it be okay to mount the radiator under the 240mm CPU AIO? Or should the radiator always be above the pump, being a "clean" freak and all i wouldn't want to make a push pull in the back of the case because it would cover up the nice RGBs of my Asus z390-E motherboard. So would it harm the card to mount the radiator on the bottom front of the case? Here's a picture of my current setup. I'm using the gpu from my old pc which is a 1060.

You could mount your CPU's radiator up above and mount the 2080Ti XC Hyrbid up front at the highest point with the tubes returning from the bottom section of the rad to keep any air bubbles inside the top part of the rad.

I believe the new card's radiator and fan is 120? Remove one upper fan and install GPU setup.

Thanks for the replies. I could put the CPU radiator up top but i do not think there's enough room, it seems like it would come in contact with the RAM sticks. I guess i'll try do what dc8flyer said and smack the GPU rad on the top. Hopefully the Rad fluid cables are long enough to have it neatly in the front near the CPU AIO.

I have mine mounted as the exhaust like the above photo. I did have to shift top fans down a little bit to accommodate. I believe its recommended to have it with the tubes at the bottom of the radiator to reduce air bubbles and possible pump noise

I'm assuming if i do put it as Exhaust as Bcavanaugh's picture suggests i'd have to put 2 more fans on the front AIO for that push/pull config. Problem is i can't really control the speed of those fans. I can set a curve for them in the BIOS but i can't control them like i'd control the fan speed of my GPU. Maybe i should put the GPU AIO in the "roof" of the case by the fan that is closest to the CPU AIO. My PC doesnt recognize the fans individually though i can change them all at once through gpu tweak with all the preset modes like Silent/Gaming/normal etc etc.

I would have the Rad Fan as Intake (Push/Pull) and allow the hot air out the top of your case using the two top fans.

@Bcavanaugh so you would put the AIO on the back of the case then as an exhaust? Fair enough. I just noticed that a local shop has the Aorus 2080ti Waterforce with the 240mm AIO in stock for 6 euro cheaper (Not that the price matters) and i might get that one over the EVGA as the Evga cards have gotten worse reviews overall about the Hybrid/aio cards than the Gigabyte. It's a bit of a shifty situation as i like the 120mm Rad of the Evga however many reviews say they've had a number of issues with the Evga hybrids. The reason i even considered the EVGA was because the shop i was going to get it from said they have not had a single return of the XC Hybrid at all. So unless i go with the Evga card i guess ill have to put the CPU AIO on the top of the case and the Aorus gpu 240mm in the front as intake.

No as an Intake in a Push/Pull Setup. I never said anything about exhaust.

Position the GPU rad up top but what case is that? If there's a filter up top, intake from the outside for fresh cooler air to the GPU rad up top. If there's no filter, just keep it as exhaust as you have it now and position your GPU rad to the middle fan. Don't position it to the fan on the right (Front) as it will suck in the front air of your CPU's rad and don't want it near the rear exhaust fan since it will take away some of that air flow since both will be fighting for air. Also, I would just leave the rear fan on exhaust duty otherwise it will be lessened if you add a rad there.

@Bcavanaugh My bad in that case, i assumed the "Here is good" meant that you suggested to have the AIO as rear exhaust but you were just speaking out about the fan placement; which is of course appreciated as i am by no means an expert on these things. @GTXJackBauer Sorry i forgot to mention the case! It's a Fractal Design Define R6. There is indeed a filter up top. I wonder if i can put it in the "Middle" fan of the 3 i have up top right now because it looks like it might come in contact with the ram which was the reason i hoped to put it nearest to the CPU AIO.

If you could switch those top fans to intake, you should see some improvement in temps, including the GPU AIO up there. Cooler outside air + positive pressure always wins and just use the single fan in the rear as exhaust. Might want to play with that and make sure it's exhausting enough air. Positive pressure should make its way out the unfiltered rear area regardless.

@GTXJackBauer I never actually thought about doing that but i can see why it would lower the temps maybe i would not even have to switch to a different brand in that case from the Asus Strix 2080ti if the temps would improve enough by making the 2 top fans as intake and the third by the exhaust as another front intake too. Although hybrid seems like the more "Safe" option temperature wise in any case and surely the most silent too even if i didnt have to ramp up the fans on the 3 fan strix card. I should hear back from the shop this week about my RMA so we'll see if they confirm it was indeed faulty.
