Was on the 1080ti circuit board, pain to remove, other screws screw into them from backplate.

I used a General UltraTECH Kit and had all the Tools needed for the 1080Ti
5/32" worked for me and also the Small Phillips Screw Driver for the Small Screws on the Back Plate and the Hex Tool to remove the Screws on the Shroud.

It's a 4 mm socket. I believe he mentions what he uses in the tear down.

It's a 4mm socket or 4mm hex adapter. If you have ever touched a car with a tool kit, you use a smaller socket than normal. If not, go invest in a socket set.

Also, the "other screw screws screw into" is called a standoff. Your motherboard has them to hold the board to the motherboard tray.

I mean, I know what standoffs are didn't think it to be the same... Still doubt it since standoffs stand the mb... Off the case, lol. Still, thanks.

Wow.. ok.. the standoff on the card standoffs the backplate from the pcb... make sense now? Thought that was pretty obvious, but maybe it wasnt sjnce it was actually used as a stand off and not just another screw that screws screw into.. ie, the exact same thing as a motherboard standoff.
