I've had the same watch since 1976. Someone bought a watch from my uncle; Took it back 6 months latter and said they were dieing of cancer and would not pay for it; My uncle could not take it back, and did not want to persue a guy dieing; so he sold it to my father who gave it to me as a graduation presant. I mainly use Caravelle by bulova, Pretty inexpensive at a range of $150-$300 and I've received lots of compliments! There's also some for about $70-$90 on eBay, But none that I like :(

Bowenac transdogmifier Bowenac Yea and I feel the same way when people are flashing and staring at there ridiculous watch on there arm, or twisting flopping there arm around like they are having some kind of seizure to get the watch in that correct position to look at and bling bling it. Oh yeah, I'm trying to bling bling a seiko... Phaw...and I'm sorry that I don't have the ability to have the EXACT fit to stay in place, nor desire so tight that it cuts off blood flow to stay in place :P heh Really some seikos are not cheap at all haha and I would never spend that much on one. The cheapest one I just seen online was $60, most of them were 2-300. I know that is no rolex but anything over $10-20 for a watch is mind boggling. I don't actually think 500 for a watch is too much, provided I like it....The seikos I buy aren't exactly blingy in my eyes...I like the utilitarian styles....functional and tough.... I do think they're easier to check the time on than a cell though Edit: I'm not wearing it solely for fashion..it's functional....I don't think it makes my sorry face look any better for sure...nor does my middle aged body suddenly become more attractive *laugh*..

I like the stainless steel rolex day/date but can't justify the price. The anachronism of a nice mechanical watch is appealing to me.

Bowenac Chrome-M-Dragon Well, this thread has gotten out of hand... You can tell who's super reliant on those phones. I don't know about osme of you but I don't keep the phone tethered to my person at all times. I don't care if someone is calling me unless I'm expecting a call. I don't keep it with me 24/7. i'll forget about it in the car...ON PURPOSE, because I don't care. It's a phone, and some folks just can't live without being on them or near them all day all the time. Unless your using it for work, you don't need to have your face buried in it :P I totally agree with you. I just don't understand the point of a watch these days is all. Anyone who wears a watch these days is doing it for fashion because they think it makes them look fancy or something. There is absolutely no need for a watch. Why do you think some watches cost an arm and a leg. What really makes that watch better than the one that has worked for 15 years that is sitting in my junk drawer and cost $15. It may sound like I am against ones personal fashion opinion... but I am not. I just see so many people trying extra hard to show off there watch. Or act like they need a fancy watch, then you see them never use it and always using there phone still, haha and have there sleeve pulled up on the arm with the watch. If you think watches are cool fine, but honestly they are not needed if you carry a phone, drive a car, or are around a computer or an office building that has clocks all over the place, banks and temperature sings display the time. That is all I have been trying to get at. People saying yea but it takes to long to look at your phone REALLY? It's obvious who really needs a watch to be used as a watch like construction workers who do not want or need there phone on them to get damaged... yea that makes sense but you don't see them buying $500 watches haha. They buy $10-20 timex watches. Well, i've never thought about fashion when it came to a watch I wear jeans and a t-shirt and whatever random tennis shoes happen to be close. I care about as much about fashion as an obese man does about dieting. I like watches because they do what they are made to do and do it well. I don't wear any other type of jewelry either. just my watch, and I don't feel right without one on. I don't fuss with my watch, it's on my arm, i need to know the time i look at it, nothing more, I also don't wear long sleeve anything lol, ever. Unless for school or an interview. Once in a while I will shake my arm (depending on which of my two watches I have one) to wind it a bit if I'm sitting still for extended periods of time, but i'm not going out of my way to draw attention to it. Most I paid for a watch was 90 bux, and that was on a whim as my previous watch (Swiss made knock off of http://www.tagheuer.com/int-en/home#/int-en-thecollections-menswatches-watches-grandcarrera-products-grandcarreracalibre36rsa-productsheet-cav5185-ft6020) was given to my dad. I got that knock off in china town in new york years ago for 40 bux. found out it was worth at least 900 because it was one of the higher class knock offs...eh I didn't care. i do however like watches that are just...different. And I hate all digital. I've had plenty of 5 dollar walmart specials, and am tired of buying them every few months. Just like anything in life you get what you pay for. Pay 5 bux, you get 5 bux of crap, pay more, you get more.

Fossil is great. My everyday watch is a Black Fossil. I just picked up a really nice Diesel one at the Fossil Outlet in Buffalo for $80!

I wear a Tissot V8. It's been a great watch - reliable and functional. If fashion is your concern, this wears casual or business. I had a Citizen Promaster ecodrive but I found it just a little too bulky so I returned it.. the Tissot is just the right weight and size for me. @ Bowenac "Anyone who wears a watch these days is doing it for fashion because they think it makes them look fancy or something. There is absolutely no need for a watch... etc.." With all due respect, I totally disagree. While that may be true for you, for me a watch is purely functional - my work demands keeping track of time, and it is far easier to glance at my wrist while walking along a crowded street or on the subway than to pull out my HTC Thunderbolt (fairly bulky phone), take the cover off, and hit the power button, then reverse procedure and put it away again. Also, although I don't get out in the water much these days, I used to surf a couple of days almost every week for many years - a waterproof watch was required, particularly if I had an appointment to keep later in the day. I have always had a similar style of watch for that reason. Last but not least, I do not wear a watch to "show it off" as you say - I don't give a toss about whether anyone sees it or not, or whether they like it or not. I've had plenty of watches over the years, and found through experience that you get what you pay for, if you want the functionality that I want. Sure a Tag would be nice, they are high quality precision timepieces, but I don't have the disposable income to spend thousands on a watch. Again, just because you don't see the value in a decent wristwatch does not mean everyone who wears one is some sort of show-off who only buys a nice watch because they think it makes them somehow better than you... lol. I have a question; what sort of car do you drive? If it's a sports car, then enuff said. If it's a big SUV, I guess that means you're compensating for deficiencies elsewhere. Why not take public transport - clearly it's because you want to show off! In fact if it's anything that looks vaguely more than a compact, clearly you are driving it to impress, right? Must be true - same logic. Could use the same argument about your flashy new Z68 with i5-2500k @ 4.7GHZ, which you make a point of putting in your signature - why do that when you could just buy an off-the-rack Dell that performs the same function? You must be trying to show off.. LOL nothing personal bro, just giving some analogies to put things in perspective

My Omega is a seamaster. Love it. And I agree with nereus. I wear a watch because i have to. I am in sales. if I am caught with my phone on the sales floor that is grounds for termination. I am not kidding either. Now i dont have to wear expensive watches, but i do like them. I also like quality. Sometimes extreme quality has a pricetag. Ill gladly pay it. The logic should be easy to accept here in the forums. EVGA is a premium brand with a price to match. Thats why all of us are here. I dont see anyonee here bragging about their ECS hardware. LOL.

mine is nothing special, just a cheapo armitron LCD watch, I have to carry it around in my pocket too since the wrist band on it is too small for mine.
